this,

c/c isn't just about protecting your range, it is also likely that it will be the best plan for your specific hand.
01-30-2014 , 03:22 PM
TDA, why do you want him to fold on the flop when you ar both really deep?

Why would you want them to bet/fold lol
01-30-2014 , 03:55 PM
Because they bet/fold too much, I'm also not really going to get paid when I bink, and I don't trust myself to pull the trigger on a river x/jam this deep, so I think I'd end up taking a x/c x/c x/f line far too often.

^you can XC two streets and still win at showdown without even hitting. and its fine to XF riv with this hand. XR worse draws if you think he bet folds to much

This. It's terrible to turn your good drawing hands into bluffs. Completely useless and underutilizing value.

What's the distinction here between a 'good' and a 'bad' drawing hand given our PF range? I assume we're not treating naked Ax as a good bluffing candidate?

Hey all,
I deposited 50 dollars into stars at the end of 2013, ran it up to just over 300 and now i'm playing $0.10/0.25 6 max cash games ($25) buy in, some times 2 tabling some times 4 tabling. are these stakes too high for my bankroll?

If you want to be aggressive in moving up stick to an 50+4 method imo.

(50 BI for your current stake i.e if you was at 10NL and wanted to move to 25NL you would wait for $600 (50x$10 + 4x$25) Move back down once you hit 50x your old stakes buying and rinse and repeat.
01-31-2014 , 01:21 AM
Ok, thanks for the advice!

What would your take be on SnG stakes, a simular 50+4 BI strategy?

Depends on what kind of SnG you wanna play it can range from close to that to needing 100+ BI of the stake you intend to play.

Couple of hands:
h1: Since he doesn't cbet this flop, he appears to be weak. I have a good draw, villain seems weak so i xr. Thoughts? He had probably like 50-60% cbet (47% after 327 hands)

I recorded a short session 4 tabling 25nl zoom. There were a few interesting spots, mostly standard though. May do more of these.

Ax would still be good, because you have straight draw+ A to possibly win the hand. Think of things like 78s/89s/T9s/QTs... etc. etc. I would really need to know what your range is though. The point is, think of hands that could still win without improving and those are already pretty good, because they have value in other ways. It's all about range percentages and probabilities so it is different for each person.

I'm not sure why...but the player pool on Friday is tougher than other days of the week. 3 of my HUSNG's lasted until level 3. They usually end by level 1 or the beginning of 2. But...

Yep feb thread up. Gogo there.
@Lukla
h1: I think you are results oriented on this one. Getting that flop with 3 of the same suit is very rare. Therefore 4/5-betting kings will always be better.
h2: I like the flop sizing. We have 3 of the 4 aces in the deck, hard to put villain on one. The question is what does villain call with? If you can give him range of non-flushes, then shove river. I think he can have AK since he flatted 4b pre so shove it.
h3: Problem here is that a lot of villain Kx combos beat us. There is only like KJ, K8-K7 and lower to get value from. Depending on villain you could check back the river.
