How to train hand-reading?

How did you train your hand reading skills? It is just to overwhelming for me to picture the preflop range and then how it evolves during a hand. As a result, I rarely range my opponents beyond some lazy "he seems weak".
Do you have suggestions what is the best to start training hand reading skills?
