I'm having a home cash game.

$20 buy-in, 9-10 players, very friendly/fishy, everyone will be drinking, this is just for fun.

I have 500 chips:

White 150
Red 100
Green 100
Black 100
Blue 50

What would you guys recommend for BB amount and how many chips of each color should each player initially get upon buy-in?

If you want to be a dick, make it 150bb and reduce slowly so as to maximise the advantage you presumably have over your friends.

Anyways, rather than tell you about blind structures, my suggestion is you make sure you all agree on the rules first, because friendly games can turn un-friendly very quickly when money + alcohol are involved.

what are the blinds for the cash game? .05/.1? .1/.2?

you could do a 200BB game with blinds @ .05/.1

everyone gets:

10 red (.05) = .5
15 white (.1) = 1.5
6 blue (.5) = 3
5 black (1) = 5
2 green (5) = 10

that way you have enough chips for everyone, people can buy back in for blacks and greens and trade with others, and the game is deep enough that people dont go broke within the first orbit, and the cashout will be 1:1 so theres no worry about converting

hey OP,

there's a ton of information on running a home game here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/24...mation-837456/

if 0.05/.10 seems too small you could run a 0.25/0.25 game. A $25 buy in gets you 100BB use the black chips as quarters the whites as dollars and the reds as fives. When people rebuy you give them 5 red chips and let them make changes from other players. Use the greens as twenties or twenty fives if the game plays "big"

good luck!

Do this, for starters.

Also, by cash game do you mean a tournament or do you mean a cash game? If the blinds increase every so often, it's a tournament. 9 white, 8 red, 7 green, 6 blue, and 4 black is 1,000 or 100 blinds since you'll be starting at 5/10. Personally I like to play a little deeper when I organize a home game, but the main thing is just to make sure everyone is clear on and cool with the structure - whatever you decide.

It will be a cash game, not tournament.

I mean.. you could just do 10c/25c blinds with 25$ buy in if it's a cash game.

I personally would rather do 50nl if you are having a cash game instead of a tournament

But anyways..

White = 10c
Red = 25c
Blue = 50c
Black = 1$

Pretty standard

If it's a cash game with a $20 buy-in, then blinds of 10c/20c would be pretty standard. If it were my game I would just make the blinds 10c/25c and let people buy-in for whatever they wanted though. This way people with less money in their pockets can play, and the maniacs who want to gamble big money can play too, and the blind structure very closely resembles actual money, so it's easier for beginners to get a grasp of what's going on.

Ah, my bad.

I just put the chip set on the table and let people get their chips in however fashion they want. Then we all check each other's stacks to see if it matches our buy in then we play, leaving the chip set somewhere close by in case someone wants change.
