Hello,

If i were to take poker coaching 1 hour per week for an entire year. Will I then need for the next year to take some more poker coaching. I want to make my way up from the small stakes to big stakes. Is 1 year enough to say I pick a 300$ an hour coach? Can he in 1 year transfer me all of his knowledge while I`m talking about the coaching I`m also dedicating 2-3 hours a day every day to becoming a poker player. It`s my DREAM.

I'd say its really a huge function of the student. There are a lot of resources these days that facilitate your ability to learn on your own (solvers, study tools, other software etc.), so I'd say getting 50+ hrs of coaching from one person is very excessive.

A good coach will give you good information/assistance and point you onto an overall good path, but it's mostly up to the student to put in the work, study, and put in the volume, etc.

Paying someone $300 / h for micro stakes coaching is huge overkill.
Guess it doesn't matter if you have the money to spare, but you can find the same value in coaching for much better prices.

There's coaches for as low as $20/40 that can perfectly help you through the micro stakes.

As you get better you want to learn new and different things.
Getting coaching is always going to be helpful.
Is it ever required? Probably not, there's enough free content and help available out there.
Is it the best way to get better quickly, I sure believe it is.

I'd actually think that the better you get the more useful coaching becomes.
But you should get to a point where you can easily pay for your coaching from your winnings.

This.

There's a huge difference between somebody who is willing to study the concepts on their own and use the 1 hour of coaching to clarify things from the material and somebody who spends 45 minutes every week to have the coach explain what do to with AK in a specific spot.

If it's your dream, maybe you could detail the progress you've made since you asked the same question four years ago?

How do people know that I asked a similar but not exact question years ago. I`m hitting the stock market with a system i`ve bought. If that works then I`ll pay for coaching and do the whole poker thing.

So in an abstract way. I can pay someone 20-40$ for 1 year to get me all the way through the small stakes then pay someone 300$ for another year and then become a High stakes player? And then I`m done even if it`s excessive I just want to be a top 100-200 poker player rank I`m not smart enough to do better alone so with the help I would like to achieve that. After all investing in 12.000$ worth of coaching for 1 year is good if you then will be able to make 50-60k a month which is my sweet spot target.

Yeah read it. But in order for me to be in that 90% i have to first try. I never played poker for money I played games on my PC but I loved it, it makes me feel cool. First i have to try and then maybe I will stop. But all my friends when we talk about poker ((they are mainly in the stock market game) all of them say you can start poker with 100$ and make 1000$ by the end of the day. I see this more as a situation if i were ever to become broke I could get back in the game fairly quick

Not sure if you are making fun of me. I know that there is a lot of work. But if I can get to that target I can cool off. I would then have enough money for anything i want. So that's why it`s my sweet spot target

Not at all. You have clearly been giving poker a lot of thought over the past 6+ years. So cranking out 50-60k$ per month in earnings seems like a very reasonable next step

Why don't you just use your stock market system to make $50-60k a month?

I think you wildly overestimate what's possible with reasonable levels of work. A newer player of avg aptitude with a year or two of high-tier coaching and strong work ethic might be able to make $50-60k per year, but certainly not per month. It's not easy to crack the 6 figure barrier playing poker, much less clear $3 or even $500k.

the only, and I seriously mean only, type of technical game coaching that has any value is learning how to use solvers more efficiently.

I see well then I will have to settle for less. But being able to make money from Poker is a great skill to have. I want to have it Badly.

I think you need to have a clear outcome in mind to be spending that kind of money per hour in coaching.

Coaching and improving can be worth it but need to be careful you aren't getting taken for a ride.

This is exactly why you need a coach despite most of the things you could find online.

First figure out which format do you like to play and then find a coach who will give you his own strategy and you apply it on the tables. Coaches speed up your learning process immensely.
