How much of an error it is to not react to any action preflop? How much of an error it is to not react to any action preflop?

Title says it all , i used to play cash and my default strategy was overall tight , my opens were fairly standar , i opened around 25-30% from lp and tighter from mp and ep but my strategy to react against raises was very very tight unless i 3-bet a steal , i simply played 3-bet/fold game even on button... and i reacted very tight to any action.

For some reason i hated floating strategy and i didnt like to enter the hand without the initiative, overall this has worked for me as long as i played cash but i had to change the strategy when i switched to mtts.

At mtts it seems the action is far more wilder even on middle stages they wont let you steal which hurts and basically if you dont react to them they will simply force you to play a very tight game , this made me to change my view on lp.

I enter far more pots now especially on the button , this helped me improve massively , i outplay players multiway or on limped pots.

I always wondered though , could you actually get exploited if you react very tight to any action before you?

Lets say you are on a table with a constant raisor and caller before you and you decide to never call them or 3-bet them light , will you lose money with antes into the game?

How much of an error is it to only call or 3bet with a value range? That depends on the other players.

First, can you exploit them with non-value calls and 3bets? Because if you can, you should and the more you can exploit them, the worse it is to not do so.

Second, are your opponents going to notice that you only ever show up with a hand and are they capable of exploiting your behaviour? If so, you need to balance your range or they will find it much easier to play perfectly against you. To take an obvious example, they can open almost ATC vs. you (depending on other villains of course) and then get ready to fold if you don't.

come to think of it i probably get exploited but it is more of an accidental exploitation rather than a calculated one , i have to improve my reaction to the table or else i burn money unless somehow the action between the rest of the players offers me an advantage but this only occurs at the bubble of a tournament.
