My dad was telling me today that my grandma had the cops called on her at 2am...... my little brother keeps his bb gun at their house to shoot the squirrels that are around their house... apparently her neighbors dog pinned an animal against against a tree and was barking at it, so she took the bb gun and tried to give the dog a warning shot. Instead she hit the dog in the leg.. and he ran home yelping.. leading the neighbors to call the cops.

Omg . Depending on where she is , that is concidered discharging a firearm in city limits . Can be a real headache .

Needs a stop or my mom will shoot movie pic imo .

The cop told her that as long as she got rid of the bb gun.. then there would be no further issue with the police or the neighbors.

Obv time to buy grandma a shotgun...

If there is a moral in this story, its surely to not allow the dog to run home.

booking tomorrow off work on a whim while drinking beer ftw.
04-07-2011 , 12:05 PM
A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door.

The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push.
"Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!"

He slams the door and returns to bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife..
"Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers.
"Did you help him?" she asks.
"No, I did not, it's 3am in the morning and it's bloody pouring rain out there!"
"Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us?
I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!
"God loves drunk people too you know."
The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain.
He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"
"Yes," comes back the answer.
"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.
"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.
"Where are you?" asks the husband..
"Over here on the swing," replied the drunk.

+1

This is probably the wrong section but w.e.

Kinda in a dilemma here guys, atm I am backed and in 3.4k makeup. Went on a downswing in February and haven't been motivated to grind SNGs much. It seems I can't play a session w/o wanting to just quit after like 20 games.

Atm I am kinda interested in switching to Cash and grinding out 20bb Cap. If I was to buy out of the contract (even $) I would be left with about $1.7k. Note that I am big fish at Cash and idk if I could grind out a roll.

The other situation is to grind out the makeup at small-mid SNGs and end the contract once I am out of MU and have 5k for a roll.

Like right now I am very depressed atm and idk if even thinking about switching games is correct. Sigh.
04-07-2011 , 09:54 PM
i would buy out of the contract asap because i hate owing ppl money.

1.7k is a heaps big enough roll to learn/get good at cash.
If you can beat sngs then with a little help even if you are a "cash fish" you will be able to beat some of the micro limit 100bb games in no time.

gl

EDIT: why do you want to switch games in the first place??

B/c I am tired of grinding SNGs/MTTs and the stress and trouble of playing them
04-07-2011 , 11:30 PM
Nevermind, just gonna grind it out and re-evaluate my situation. Don't think I'll be able to straight up quit SNGs/MTTs for a while; I'll just have to learn Cash on the side then

That sucks IamPro - Your probably one of the best SnG which posts here in BF.

In other news - I only just failed a component of one of my med school exams (One which people only barely passed), However I did well in 3 other components. However, the course description says we need to pass every component in order to officially pass. But I've been in contact with a few people and they say that it still considered a pass as long as I did well in every other component.

So Cliffs:

I will give $10 to the first person to say booked if the outcome is that I pass without needing to resit the exam.

Pretty much a freeroll for anyone who wants it - I would like some run good vs my medical school.

Hi Support,

Why is this permitted at limit games. Not that it bothers me
much, I'm just curious as to the reasons - besides the fact it's
limit!

Cheers.
Sent after spotting obvious ratholers at the Dugi tables.

Hello Handsome,

Thank you for contacting PokerStars.

As you already alluded to, the limitation that applies to players
removing funds from the table does not apply to Fixed Limit
games. There are no restrictions on players leaving a table and
returning at any time as long as they can make the minimum
buy-in. The primary reason for this is because there is little if
any effect in limit play. Since games are played at table stakes,
the minimum buy in is generally sufficient to handle an entire
played hand. It is not that common to lose the entire minimum buy
in in one limit hand (maybe in play money poker it is more
common, but in real money play it is relatively rare), so the
limitation is really not necessary as the minimum buy in offers
the protection necessary.

In "big-bet" poker (pot-limit or no-limit play), a return to the
same table after an absence of less than 120 minutes is still
considered part of the same playing session. If a player leaves
the table and wishes to return less than 120 minutes later, they
must buy-in for at least the amount they left the table with, or
with up to 10% less if that is all that the player has remaining
in their bankroll.

This policy is meant to give players a fair chance of winning
their money back. This policy can be found on our web site here:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/limits/

If you have any further questions about this or any other matter,
please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Randy

Doesn't bother me massively, but it can be pretty annoying when it's blatant.
