Hey! Welcome back to the poker grind!
Hand review
Since you’re using PokerTracker 4 (PT4), ensure that your sessions are being tracked correctly. PT4 will import and save your hand histories automatically if it’s set up properly.
In PT4, navigate to the "Hands" tab.
Find the specific hand you want to review.
Right-click on the hand and select “Copy Hand to Clipboard” or “Export Hand History” depending on the format you need.
Paste the copied hand history into the forum post. PT4 provides a readable format, but make sure it’s clear and easy to understand.
You can also use hand converter tools online to make the format cleaner and more visually appealing for forum members.
When posting a hand, provide some context or specific questions.
For example, “I was unsure about my bet sizing on the turn” or “Could I have played this differently pre-flop?”
This helps others give more targeted feedback.
Improving Your Game
- Regularly review your hands, especially the ones where you faced difficult decisions or lost big pots.
- Websites like Run It Once, Upswing Poker, etc offer courses and videos from top players.
- Use poker training tools like GTO Wizard, PioSolver, or Floppzilla to study optimal play and ranges. These tools can help you understand the theoretical aspects of poker and improve your decision-making.
- Work on your understanding of key concepts like position, ranges, bet sizing, and pot odds. These fundamentals are crucial for building a solid game.
- Develop a strong mental game by reading books like "The Mental Game of Poker" by Jared Tendler. Managing tilt and maintaining focus during sessions are essential skills for long-term success.
Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your progress and hands on the forum!
