What do you think of this play? I would make the same play with 99, TT, 88, J8s, QQ, KK, AA. How did villain find a call here?

Stack sizes look like a tournament. What was the buy-in?

Would you really overbet 2x with 2 overs, when as played, Jx has to be in villain's range?

Turn is a clear check back.

If you have an opponent making bad calls (and this probably was) why are you complaining about it? He is giving you chips over the long run by making these mistakes. Was this your first hand with villain? Did you notice him being station-y previously? If so, then the problem isn’t his bad calls; the problem is that you are bluffing a player who makes bad calls. Stop doing that. Start betting thin value instead. You make money off players who call loose by value betting , not bluffing them.

Also how was your image? If villain saw you playing aggressively and bluffing a lot, he might well have been justified here - he had a bluff catcher and he caught your bluff. If you had been doing enough bluffing, it might not have been a terrible call.

It was an mtt final table. Buy in $11. Although I think that shouldn't matter unless its Exploit vs GTO. Yes I definitely make this play with the hands stated above including AKo, AKs. I felt at FT, villian wouldn't risk stack for stack vs chip leader for anything less then a J. I was wrong and sometimes am. Just wondered others thoughts about how he found a call with bottom pair. GTO says you should have SOME bluffs in your all in range as well as the nuts. I show up with the nuts often so it was an interesting call.

Because; as you proved, you will make the bet with the hand you have as well. Against what V perceived as your betting range he thought he had a call. People are allowed to call your bluffs and are correct to do so if they feel you bluff often enough.

You thought he wouldn’t call this bet with less than a J, and yet you would make this bet with 99 and better….?
