About even stacks, 30BB each

Hero: KcTc on BB
UTG raises 2.2BB, folds round, Hero calls

Flop: 8c 2s 9c

Hero checks, UTG bets 50% pot, Hero calls

Turn: Jc

Hero checks, UTG bets 50% pot, Hero calls

River: Jh

Hero bets 50% pot, UTG shoves, Hero calls

(UTG shows JsJd)

Should I give him credit for being on 88 / 99 / 22, and betting into the streets? No HUD but he seemed fairly standard so far, maybe slightly loose. I put him on AJ by the river, stabbed at the pot on the flop. Is that bad analysis?

by the time you get to the turn bet he already has enough in that you could just shove over his bet

I would have maybe raised it up again pre flop, although either way I think villain still be in the pot, other than that it's just one o those hands I think, I doubt you would get him off the hand on the flop. You are on micros right?

Yeah micros ('Big $2.20'). Agreed prob not a re-raise on PF or flop... and when he hits the set on the river - how often is he folding, ever??

never use check/call->check/call->lead river line with strong hands, it's a dead giveaway, all fish do that (they are "trapping" and then get scared that opponent will checkback river). Just raise the turn.

I wouldn't say never, but certainly when you check and call when you have the best hand and bet when you have the worst hand you might wanna look at some different lines

Just calling on the turn is pretty bad. There's value to be gained from straights/sets/2pr and NFDs by jamming and it usually means you're not seeing a river card that either makes your hand worse, or stops villain from putting any more money in. (When you call twice on that board, villain is usually checking back the river - or folding to a donkbet - with anything worse than a flush). When you're OOP with a draw, you should be looking to check-raise at some point instead of just being a calling station. You should certainly raise when you hit, because otherwise it's hard to get paid.
