I'm not quite sure on how to do this. First of all, should I play Cash, SNG, or MTT? Second of all, I have a bankroll of about $.50 right now, so even if I wanted to play the lowest buy-in MTT, how long should I grind 0.01/0.02 on FT? Thanks.

you should always have 20-25 buyins online if you're a good player and don't tilt easily. 25 - 70 buyins if you want to play a very aggressive style. If you don't follow these rules, there's a very good chance you could go broke easily.

50c isn't a roll, it's just some pennies in a poker account.

If you want a roll to play then deposit a decent amount, I'd suggest minimum $50, but go up to $100 if you can afford.

Then if you want to play cash $100 means you would have the recommended 20 buyins for 5NL cash.

Or you have >40 buyins for $2 SNGs.

If you want MTTs then you should play the $1 MTTs.

Google bankroll management, or check the stickies on the various strategy forums here on 2+2. The forum for each game type will have its own FAQ with its own BRM recommendations.

As for which you should play, that will depend on which style best suits you. Some people play cash games better, others perform better in a tournament format because the chips don't represent actual money, because they can't be cashed out.

Try all formats and see which you prefer.

you can find your bankroll in the street that is not a good thing

maybe do some random work for a day for scrap money or something, it isnt too hard to make 10-25 dollars doing something for a couple hours

Deposit 50 bucks, grind 1c/2c cash games, move up to 2c/5c at 100$, 5c/10c at 200$, .1/.25c at 500, keep 20-30 buyins thereafter for the next level. If you drop down to like 15 buyins for the level you are playing then move back down. Profit.
