Heads Up button range question Heads Up button range question

I have a villain at my site which i think might defend to much OOP vs my button raises.

I raise as a standard 2.5xBB with 82.5% of my holdings.

This villain defends his BB about 68% and has a really tight 3betting range of just 3% (99+, AQs+)

Clearly he’s 3betting to little, but does he defend to much or is that standard?

If hes defending to much, whats your advice of adjusting. Raise a bit bigger with the same opening range to like 2.75xBB/3xBB or should i stick with my opening size and just raise more hands due to my positional advantage?

this is pretty standard defending range vs 2,5x, he could actually be defending a little wider (up to 75%-ish vpip from bb, depending on rake)

Such a low 3-bet frequency is a huge leak. His overall defense frequency is reasonable. I’d try opening more hands for a larger sizing. The stronger parts of your range need to put money in themselves if he’s not 3-betting much and the weaker parts don’t have to worry about getting blown off their equity.

Ok, then i might be defending to little myself. Is it like any guide to how many hands you should defend vs different opening sizez.

Like 75% vs 2.5x, how many hands vs minraise, vs 3x etc.

3betting i understand depends on how much villain opens SB and how he reacts to my 3bets.

Ok, because hes not putting much pressure on me and i have position?

So if i go up to like 2.75x with 85% of hands, and if villain starts to adjust - at which 3betting frequency from villain should i adjust and go back to 2.5x with 82.5%?
