# of hands to get accurate stats? # of hands to get accurate stats?

Hey guys,
I used to play cash, stopped for some HUSNG's, but decided to come back. I am playing down to the 10$ NL for a while just to make sure I still have all the basics. I remember when I used to play that I had about a 22/18, but now I am finding myself playing with a VPIP as low as 14 (this is my average stat). I don't really think I'm playing all that different, so I was thinking maybe I'm just not getting good enough cards yet? So perhaps I'm folding more. My sample is only about 2k, yes I know very small, but it seemed to me that this might be a big enough sample since people use these stats in tournaments all the time and tournaments dont go through 2k hands (not many anyway).

20k should give you a good idea.

VPIP and PFR should be coming pretty close to their correct values before 2k hands. I would be surprised if either was more than 1 or 2% off. Looks like you have tightened up from your old game.

This. If your looking for more detailed stats like fold to c-bet or wts then your gonna need like 5K+.

If your looking for an accurate result of your true winrate then your gonna need like 50K min.

But VPIP and PFR should be very accurate after 2,000 hands. You could open up poker tracker and simply check if your not getting any hands, but I would bet that you've just tightened up.
