Right, i've been bored and researching the merits of the Iron Man bonus scheme on Full Tilt Poker. I've just worked out how many months it would take you to obtain a custom avatar on Full Tilt assuming you were making 1,000 Full Tilt Points (FTPs), per day. I've added in a few days holiday though and i don't take into account the possibility of happy hours and so forth.

You are rewarded with 7 FTPs for every $1 in rake you pay.

cliffnotes: It will take you just under 2 years of daily grinding to obtain enough points for a personalised avatar.

feel free to check my calculations but i think i'm about right.


1000 FTP's/day x 300 days a year = 300,000 FTP's

3 bonus Iron man medals/day x 28 days a month= 84 medals (bonus medals for
making 1k FTP's/day)

+ 100 For achieving Iron man + a further 100 for declining entrance to the ironman freeroll

284 iron man medals/month x 12 months= 3408 medals

total= 3152-2500=652 iron medals left over (cost of 100k FTPs in store)

iron medals in first year= 100,000 FTP's from iron man store

884/month x 6 months = 5304 medals



9408 medals in year 2 + 652 iron medals from year 1 = 10,060 medals

10,060 medals= 4 x 100k FTP's from iron man store = 400,000 FTP's + 300,000 FTP's= 700,000 FTPs




400,000 FTPs from year 1 + 700,000 FTPs from year 2= 1,100,000 FTP's




1,100,000 FTP's= Custom avatar with some to spare for an I-pod :P

OP IMO there is nothing that FTP offers that is more useless than a custom Avatar...seriously.... think about it sometimes in the next two years or so...

Edit: Just to elaborate...

If you do 2k points a day 25 days a month, you'll earn 1 million FTP points in 13 months.

2k points gets you 20 medals a day. 20 x 325 = 6500 and 650k points

13 months of bonus medals. 1300

Monly Iron man medals. 100 + 120 + 120 + 150 + 150 +150 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 300 = 2090

9890 - 7500 = 300k points and 2390 medals leftover, with just 5 2k point day and 1 1.5k point days extra over the 13 months you have your 4th 2500 to leave you at 1,061,000 points. Enough leftover to still get your Ipod.

Why in hell you you want to buy (effectively) a custom avatar?

Cuz it's cooler than high priced electronics.

seriously though. I didn't do it because i am endeavouring to get a custom avatar.

nothing is worth 2 years of my life.

i just did it to demonstrate how utterly pointless the Iron Man bonus is really.

I mean if you could get a custom avatar playing high stakes over 2-3months or something then that's cool. But trading 2 years of your life grinding like a motherfuker and getting a pile of money and a dumbass avatar would not be worth it

i did it based on 1k points because that's semi-achievable for guys playing $50-$100 stakes sng's or mid stakes cash games etc

obv i could just be like "well if i made 10k FTPs per day then it would take blah blah i'm a cok"
