This is where I used to have heaps of trouble, especially live when I was card dead for hours. Luckily I found ways to overcome it.
Against the nits who will only raise or fold to your 3b, I only 3b KK+ and any Ax/Kx/Qx/Jx suited that isn't a broadway hand. I will flat with most other stronger hands that you would not want the villain to 4b or fold to, such as AK/TT-QQ and open this up the later position the raise is from.
The KK+ is obv your stacking off range and the Ax/Kx/Qx/Jx hands are the air with blockers that cancel out a few hands he can have to 4b with, and you obv just muck if he does 4b. The range is extremely polarized though so I try not to over abuse it.
