Does anybody play Full Ring? Does anybody play Full Ring?

I'm finding the games are a lot softer than 6 max.The games feel like a live cash game at a casino. Does anybody play full ring specifically? I mostly play 6 max but I'm thinking of shifting to full ring. I play on Cake right now and because the traffic is not that high I see all the same regulars from 200NL up to 1000NL. I'm guessing this is because of low player volume.

Does anybody have an experience with this or have any advice?

I play 4nl. I used to play 6max. Changed to full ring after spewing a bit. You pay less blinds, the players are worse, and when you PFR, you don't just rake the blinds, you usually get 1 or 2 calls. No TAGs, no bluffy LAGs, just straight up calling stations and PP dumpers. I'm very happy with the change. I really think full ring is the way to go. I usually won't even sit down without 8 players. I used to think "6max I can loosen up, maybe even rock some rags," but now I think that was sort of silly.

This works exactly to OP's point - 1500 poster complaining about the speed. Strong players prefer 6max meaning there are less of them at full ring.

Yeah I always feel like the good players sit at the 6max tables. If you want a challenge, play 6max. Me? I'm all about dum-dums, but that's my thing.

If one were much softer than the other then all the regs would switch and then it would become harder and so on, ad nauseum.

Play whatever you prefer.

I feel the reason the stronger players are attracted to 6 max over FR, other than the fast paced action packed game + more RB/hand + more hands/hour, is because strong players have a bigger edge in 6 max than FR.

EG: Calling stations in 6 max will be pounded upon by the stronger players more than FR due to the looser ranges.

6 max also requires more skill with regards to hand reading... Naturally, good players feel they have a big edge in 6 max due to good hand reading where as FR, they may find themselves not being able to maxmise there edge.

...Something like that anyway.

IMO, 6 max is more fun & more proffitable (Yet swingy) - especially higher hourly rate.

If I could be bothered with the slower paced game, I would play FR since it has very little varience and I do feel any 6 max reg can migrate over and crush FR fairly easy (Significantly better hand reading skills)... But I know I would get bored of it after a week.

If my HUD fit on 9 handed tables I'd be more willing to give it a go, that's for sure :P

I usually prefer 6 max but on Cake I'm starting to see that it is easier to win more money @ a full ring. The games are just insanely softer.

Ok, less bluffy lags, or at least a better ratio. And a lot harder for them to rake the blinds PFRing rags 1st in.

Yeah this a big advantage to 6max you don't have to worry about the hud taking up too much space.

6max is better because of the faster play.. i like to see more hands.

You mean play more hands (you said 'see more', I'm a bit slow here)? Don't you end up paying more for your cards because the blinds come around so often? Seems like someone was saying that gets counteracted somehow. Just sort of swore off 6max after spewing a bit, figured it was time to change things up. I do enjoy raking antes with crap cards though, don't get to do that at FR.

I'm playing FR zoom. Play is soft + action is fast.
