Novice question: what is the difference between Multi-Table tournaments and Sit 'n' Gos?

A lot of descriptions describe Sit 'n' Gos as single table tourneys, but the ones I'm playing have 45 players!

If anyone could explain the basic diff in strategy between regular MTTs and multi-table sit 'n' go strategy, great!

Plus, how much of the Harrington books is applicable to Sit 'n' Gos?

Thanks

There are MTT and STT Sit n Go's. However when people refer to SnG's they generally mean STT's.

The Harrington on Holdem books are excellent and relevant to Sng's although relate better to live, bigger tourneys. Collin Moshman's "Sit'n Go Startegy" is a much better book for what you are looking for.

Cheers!

I've been playing 27 & 45 player SnGs and also tried a 990 player turbo SnG and became confused as to the difference between them and "regular" tourneys.

The book you recommended - is that good for MT SnGs?

I'll have a look at the Harrington books if they're good for MT SnGs as everyone raves about them...

Moshman's book is primarily aimed at STT's but is definitely worth reading if you play 27's if only for when the field reduces.

Harrington's books are a must read for any poker player serious about the game. They are Gold.
