Anyone know why 10nl speed is so avoided?
12-23-2013 , 12:58 PM
Full of nits and shortstackers
12-23-2013 , 01:18 PM
Damn. This just put me down to break-even for today. Guy sat down and was playing like an absolute maniac. 3/4betting everyone, raising every bet, potting every street etc. Already managed to win a bit from him then this happened. Shame it didn't happen at 5NL

Fishtanks 10nl speed on ipoker is just a joke imo ahah, I 8 tabled it hudless and had a v/e blueline for 20k hands gg
12-23-2013 , 04:09 PM
Pretty good day if I ignore the results. Was playing pretty well and I finally feel comfortable at 10NL. Don't know if it was just today but the tables felt really soft and witnessed some horrific play Shame I had to run into this at the end of the session....

Calling ATo in the blinds vs an MP raise is unlikely to ever be profitable, especially against a nit. 3bet or fold
12-23-2013 , 04:15 PM
Although it's not a fold obviously he doesn't have many 6x in his range. Probably isn't worth raising the turn as his range is going to be a lot of Tx and overpairs. We don't really want to be bluffing him I'd imagine so we may aswell just let our range be really strong and let him overvalue overpairs.

I'd also question not folding ATo pre. I don't even think it's worth a 3bet in all honesty unless he is folding to 3bets too much too.
12-23-2013 , 04:15 PM
+1 dunna, prob just fold unless he has pretty high fold to 3bet(>60%)
12-23-2013 , 04:20 PM
Even with a fishy player calling OTB and we're closing the action? I appreciate it's a highly speculative hand and I wouldn't be staking off with just top pair etc or am I just falling into FPS?
12-23-2013 , 04:24 PM
You might be closing the action now but not postflop where it matters. Ur playing vs MP's opening range and OOP for the hand. I presume you don't have postflop reads on MP or the fish so how do you intend to TID unless you hit an obvious hand which will make it hard to get paid off anyway
12-23-2013 , 04:35 PM
Jw - am I the only person itt who plays 1 table? albeit husng, I would do the same for cash
12-23-2013 , 04:39 PM
Thanks guys. I don't make it a habit of calling ATo in the blinds but I see now how this is a pretty bad play and how my logic was flawed. My blind play is definitely one area I feel I need to work at and I guess this proves it
12-23-2013 , 05:29 PM
calling ATo in the blinds is usually fine against someone who isn't a nit and who has opened from the CO or BUT. Or someone who you can exploit postflop.
12-23-2013 , 06:43 PM
Hihi!

I played that hand earlier and struggle to determine if my call was fine or not.

I raised pre because my table was really passive and folded a to my steals.

Villain is 30/23 so pretty aggro but not a complete sicko either. When he raises my turn bet I need to have 35% equity to make a profitable call. I appears that he had a set and that my hand was crushed but I somehow think that he could do that with Qx, Tx, AJ, worst flush draws. Am I completely out of line? I could very well be that's why I would love to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks in advance!
    12-23-2013 , 06:44 PM
squeeze the ATo if the fishy is on the Button

x/r turn is bad from a range perspective

    and ToTch
i'd probably check flop and go from there. we have a good hand to check.

Also don't make speculative assumptions about someones range to justify your call, just baluga til you have better reads.

my highest VPP day ever(1.6k) was pretty annoying :/ played well but ran so bad.

can't complain too much tho. I was running well above Ev all month.

        Why I switched to HUSNG's

        HU cash 5NL - 25NL

        HU cash 5NL

        $5.25 HUSNG

Pretty easy to blame runbad on my cash graph, but my showdown line is extremely sh*tty as well. I'm not sure if that accounts for all hands at showdown or just river calls, but yeah, I'm a showdown monkey and it's something I've been working on. The huge dip in my HUSNG graph is purely tilt. Something else I have been working on lol. I only played 5 HUSNG's on Sat or Fri b/c of tilt, so I would say I'm making progress on it

Played 2.8k hands of HU, and 2.2k hands of HUSNG

HU4hoes, do you plan on playing a lot more online now or still just doing it when bored at home?

Also, note to self and those that are reading.
Do not play when tired, or when you've only just woken up.

        Spoiler:

Thankfully my afternoon session was better.
Still down for the day, but to an amount that I can feel happy with.

        Spoiler:

I think one thing which I've REALLY improved upon is my ability to have losing sessions. If I booked a -1 BI session, I'd be really pissed off with myself and coax myself into playing more hands to try to make it back, which in turn gave me the whole "gotta win as quickly as I can" mentality, which resulted in a lot of bad decisions.

These days that has changed. This mornings -5BI session still hit me a little, but I was happy with how I played in some of the larger pots. Sometimes people will make calls against you where the only thing they beat in your range is a bluff, on the one time that you do actually have a bluff, but I rest easy these days knowing that long term I'll be making money when they call me and I have them crushed.

There's more I'd like to improve on my game though. Generally my thinking has improved a lot, my hand reading is really improved dramatically. One thing I can see myself draining away my winrate is when I'm facing a 3bet. I tend to call too frequently, to fold to too many flop cbets.

If I'm unsure what someone's range is, and how it transpires on certain flops against my range, then there's a good chance that I'll need to tell myself that folding preflop is the better option. While it might result in me folding 70+% to 3bets, I don't mind doing so if I'm losing less bb's from folding than I am from calling.

Also, spotted oop u mad at the tables today. Said a quick hello.
