H1: get it in
H2: nh, but perhaps a little bit bigger on river
H3: I like your thinking, but tbh I'm usually a huge nit, and I think this is a 4b here.

Thought I should've 4b here. Is calling okay though?

I think flatting's better than 4betting as a standard. Very rarely 4betting anything in that spot.
12-02-2013 , 08:15 AM
I'd rather flat than 4bet in that spot.
Had a 2k month last month, biggest so far.
Going to be low-volume month for me, heaps of things to do both in social life as in school life.

Played some 10nl zoom overrolled for lols whilst being sweated by dillchips. Can't even begin to describe how juicy it is. No stats in the hands because i don't have any SS on the players there.

Good November. Feel like a lot of basic concepts finally took root in my brain and saw the benefit. Finally moved out of 2NL and into 5NL. Had to drop down at one point but managed to get comfortable.

Going to set some simple goals:

              [ ] Try for 1,000 hands a day.
[ ] Try and grind up to $200 and take shots at 10NL
[ ] Read or watch a poker video for 1 hour a day

Had a small session today after a couple of days off. Didn't run too good. Certainly didn't feel like I was playing my A game as well. Thoughts on below?

H1) Both these guys were playing as loose as hell. Thought a high Ace would be good against their range and thought it would be good for around 50BBs. Good or bad?

If anyone's interested I recorded a commentary on OlyBrah's video:

              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEkNMbOrE0A

The quality's piss-poor because I had to mess around with the video a lot so tbh the cards/pot size are pretty tough to see, but in most cases you should be able to infer that stuff from what you can make out and the commentary. If anyone's really interested the original video (before being uploaded to YT) is definitely clearer, and I've uploaded it here:

              http://www44.zippyshare.com/v/32378129/file.html

Will probably be recording a session of my own and commentating on that too within the next couple of days, hopefully with better quality as I've learnt a bit about how to get better video quality.

              Sexy voice bro.

On a more serious note: it's really hard to understand what you're saying due to the immense background noise/static that is going on constantly. Interesting video, still, but a bit difficult to watch.

Why do you want to c/f flop?

Because he doesn't have 66 or 22 very often /at all. There is one combo of KK which he arguably 4bets. Then there is AA which he probably 4bets quite a lot.

Especially with the odds that you are geting it is a very easy b/c and there are probably some arguments to GII on the flop but I think calling and letting him carry on any bluffs is a good idea. There aren't exactly many cards we dislike so even if he checks it back on the turn we aren't going to be in bad shape very often come the river.

well thought x/c might not be the best because we are oop, and would calling and seeing turn put us in a very weird spot? also if we do gii on flop, what hands is he r/c that we beat?
              12-03-2013 , 11:07 AM
I think I have already explained why b/c and then checking the flop should be ok. I think we have plenty of stuff in our range that we are happy to do that with and having AK in it is no biggie as far as I can tell (and I'm bad at poker so there may be lots of reasons).

As for what hands he GII with I don't think he does very wide but that's most likely a mistake on his part where he's folding too often or raising too tight in this spot. So it's a spot I think we should be bluffing somewhat often. If we're bluffing we need value combos too really and AK might fall into that value range (as 3 combos of KK probably wouldn't be enough, might be wrong).

BC XC XC IMO. Don't think there is any need to xraise OTT. We can't fold for 100bb for TPTK in 3bet pot on this board.

XCing OOP is bad when we re going to have a difficult decision on future streets and our opponent uses his position well. For example 764s is really hard to play OOP as the PRF or the cold caller since the board will change a lot adn the player IP will be able t put a lot of pressure on us. But on a Kxxr with TPTK we are fine.

Given he cold called a pre flop 3bet(not saying its bad, its probably good to have AA/KK in your range here but its not really standard from what I have seen ) and he shouldn't be raising this board with any part of his range we can assume he is not thinking at a very high level and he might be doing something ******ed with QQ (lol have seen it) or KQ.

Frustrating day. Was up 1.5BI at one point but a few bad decisions and coolers meant I ended up down half a buy in. Oh well. Few misplayed hands but learned from it.

H1) Guy was fairly loose but hadn't seen him get out of line. Easy fold?

              H1: looks fine
H2: even vs a manic its pretty thin calling down. XCing the turn and river is probably a better line if he is really aggro.
H3: Might be tempted to go smaller since he can't really have any worse Kx in his range and an ace OTR is nut worst hand for getting value.

              thanks gamma

both villains hit their set with 66, so there was my short-lived time at 25nl. gonna grind a bit more at 16nl first before moving up. perhaps for the 25nl hand it was quite bad under villains play to cold call the 3b with 66.

Had a delightful live session last night, won 175bb in 3 hours. Played super-loose (well, quite loose, the players were pretty bad so I was opening 97s UTG in 6m etc), and the only other real competent player at the table was on my left and kept saying how he didn't want to get involved in pots with me (I think he was suffering from end of term lack of money).
