Hi, my friend and I are total computer tards, his computer is real slow and weve been told that we need to reset the settings to like a month ago. I guess theres a way to reset your computer to like a month back or something and it resets all your settings to that???

Srry if this question is really vague or just plain dumb but like I said were computer tards, thx in advance

You can, but chances are that won't fix anything.

Google / youtube "Windows Reformat" that will make your PC run like brand new by essentially wiping everything you have on it off of it. Make sure you back up everything you need on another hard drive/ computer before you do though.

ilb3 wasn't kidding when he (she?) said "BACK UP EVERYTHING".

Remember about things like:
- bookmarks/favorites
- files in in AppData folder
- username/passwords stored as cookies, which you don't have written down anywhere
- etc., etc., etc.

I reformat my machine roughly every 12 months and it's always a royal pain.

Good luck and write things down as you go through the steps so you have a guide the next time you need to repeat the process.

Really? Usually only takes me a few hours and that is mainly because I am waiting for Windows to re-install. It depends on speed of your computer and how much crap you have on it I guess.

With all the usernames I think with most browsers you can just export / import them without having to remember or write each one down.

Reformatting is pretty drastic for a slow computer and it wouldn't necessarily restore it to like new nor increase the speed.

Slow pc could be environment, hd space, ram gone bad, virus, pc configuration. Could be lots of things.

You could see if you have a restore point and restore to that before reformatting.
