I was in a sit-n-go when this other player just would not stop dogging me. He then started claiming he could see my stats which is when I found sharkscope.

That said; some of what he said just wasn't true. He claimed I purchased SC (I don't have my bank account linked; and I don't own a credit card - I legit only use the free roll to build bank roll)

Listen; he straight berated me in an uncomfortably obnoxious way that should see any player banned. That said; I'm an adult, so I just turned off the chat feature. I'd still like to know how much better than me he was, and I have his stats here - Shown below. (No username visible for privacy reasons)




How much better than me is he; and what insight can be gleamed from this stats chart?

If I bought a membership to sharkscope; what type of insight would the insight tab have available? Anything super valuable?

In order to be at 10x my average stake you need to deposit. I have not. I'm building from scratch; those stats aren't relevant. His ROI is.

I think you missed the point. Nobody is saying he is better just because he plays higher stakes. They are saying he is better because his ROI at the higher stake is significantly higher than your ROI at the lower stakes. Lower stakes games are easier in general. If you had equal ROIs, the one achieved at higher stakes indicates better play. It’s far easier to achieve a given ROI at the lowest stakes than it is at 10x higher stakes. If he played at your stakes regularly, presumably his ROI would be even higher.

Also, the fact that you think beating this guy in this SNG proves anything shows that your understanding of poker is not too good. You could potentially beat a big name pro in any given SNG. That does not make you better. Results can only be compared over large sample sizes. Play 1000 SNGs with him and win 600+, then you can talk about beating him.

No; you're the one missing the point. If we're bringing up arbitrary statistics; winning is the end all be all of arbitrary statistics.

Whatever. People here are trying to help. You were the one who sled how much better he is. You then get defensive about what stakes you’re playing at when it was pointed out to you that his ROI is better at a higher level than yours is at a lower one, which indicates that he is significantly better than you. You were the one who mentioned that you beat him in this SNG, as if that somehow meant anything. We aren’t making up the whole variance thing. It’s not a conspiracy so we can put you down and tell you you are no good. A lot of us aren’t very good, especially compared to the high level grinders. I’m just a rec myself; I have no illusions about my own level of play. Just don’t come on here, ask for advice, then get defensive when people tell you that what you are doing and saying indicates a lack of understanding of the game. Or do that; I don’t really care. But you will learn a lot more about poker and improve your ROI much faster if you listen to the advice and take it seriously instead of thinking your way is better and just saying “we can’t blindly follow standard strategies - we must exploit!” to justify it when what you really are doing is plying badly.

Was thinking along the lines of his higher early exit % being used potentially as a signal he is more aggressive early than I am, and possibly can be taken advantage of next time.
