Call if pot odds are greater than card odds or if card odds are greater than pot odds???

Hi, i have a question regarding when to call, what board texture etc. Which one of all these links is the correct one? Do i only call when my pot odds are greater than my outs (equity) or do i only call when my equity (outs) exceeds the pot odds? I'm so lost....

This site says "Remember! You should only call if the pot odds are greater than the "card odds" (odds of completing your draw)." http://www.thepokerbank.com/strategy...tics/pot-odds/

In this video the legendary Gus Hansen says "You should always look for spots where your chance of winning exceeds your pot odds" At the 02:55 mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNhtv3gG-XU

As i wrote before, which one is right? I guess it also depends on the villains range etc aswell?

Basically this to make it short:
Card Odds: 4:1=25% = CALL
Pot Odds: 5:1=20% (5:1 = greater than 4:1)

I don't know how i could not understand what "greater" ment before or how i actually could not understand this, it is so simple but i made it hard somehow...

There’s no contradiction. The apparent discrepancy arises from two ways that pot odds are defined. I believe the more conventional way is Current Pot/Call Amount. So if villain opens with a bet 50 into a pot of 100, the pot odds are 150/50 or 3 to 1. Required equity can be shown to equal 1/(Pot odds+1), which in this case is 1/(3+1) = 25%. Hansen was using this form as his pot odds definition.
