Keep at it Gina, breakevens happen, just a matter of time till it picks back up.
02-09-2008 , 07:57 PM
If you're getting slapped around, go have a peek at your lifetime stats / graph & it'll remind you how far you've come. Hopefully it will bring your confidence back to its peak
02-09-2008 , 10:28 PM
well ive just won back 5BIs so up to 342 now. its amazing how a couple of good sessions can bring bk the confidence so keep at it gina.

have you dropped down to 10NL or to 5NL??
02-09-2008 , 11:51 PM
the breakeven stretch ended.

seriously, i don't know wtf i am doing wrong. I'm now at 581. is this tilt? I figured even with a flush draw i had a full house redraw. against an overpair I could be golden. since it was a button raise it could be a weak ace. this player had not been showing down garbage- so I did not put them on 79. they'd been popping on the button with weaker aces and KQ, KJ type stuff.

this is messing with my head. i'm tempted just to pull the dang money off altogether at the moment.

prolly obvious this is tilting me, huh.

well, gina, you and I have independently discovered that NL25 at stars is broken this month. I'm on an insane straight-down slide over the last 2 weeks. I've been jealous of your breakeven, in fact. I think we should write to support and let them know something needs fixing.

you're at 75% equity when you got it in, so your $klansky account is doing good, at least.

I hope things pick up for you soon.
02-10-2008 , 01:23 AM
gina, you got your money in with the best hand and your opponent outdrew you. you simply cannot do anything more in poker than getting your money in good. always remember that and keep playing solid poker.
02-10-2008 , 01:31 AM
My preference with 88 preflop would be to flat call the raise, hoping the limper comes in too (along with maybe another caller, the more the merrier) and then you can set mine. The small reraise gets rid of the limper, builds up the pot, and keeps the initial raiser in for sure - do you really want that with 88? Nothing wrong with how you played the flop though, even against the unlikely straight you have outs.
02-10-2008 , 03:33 AM
Played the flop fine on that hand, villian came in behind and you missed the redraw. I have addopted a way more passive style recently and am running like god atm (yea I know you dont want to hear that). One thing I would be wary of is I have played with you and you do play very agressive at times, my personal opinion is I think that sometimes if you are overly agressive constantly it makes it tougher for people to lay down hands. If you have been showing agression he could have put you easily on a overpair.

I dont have percentages available but if he put you on 10s/Js I think hes ahead as he could hit an A, Q, or H. And if he things you may be bluffing hes way ahead, though I think he just say nut flush draw, gogogo.

Out of curiousity more then anything mind if I ask your stats for last couple weeks, can pm me if you dont want to post in thread.

I agree with EvilSteve that I wouldn't have played 88 the same pf as you did. But I also know your style differs a lot from standard tag, so I'll assume you know what you were doing. You can't do anything about the rest of the hand. You got your money in with the best hand and got outdrawn, there's simply nothing more you can ask for when you play poker.

As for a suggestion... I've played with you a few times and I know that when you're running good your style makes you like 1000000000bb/100 lol. However, considering you're not running so hot right now, maybe you should tighten up a bit? Playing a more standard tag style is probably not what you want to do, but it should help you get through your downswing smoother, or at least keep you from losing your br while you figure out what's wrong.

Anyway, keep your head up, we all have to go through **** times. There wouldn’t be any fish left if good players never ran bad.

this includes all 6 max. I've also played full ring,if you would like to see those too.

total hands 7700
vpip 25
preflop raise 13
% played from sb: 37
saw flop all hands: 29

flop action, %:
raise: 9
bet 47
call 7
check 28

aggression factor:
flop 2.33
turn: 1.74
river: 2.26
total: 2.11

folded sb to steal 82
folded bb to steal 75
att to steal blinds 23
went to showdown 28
won at showdown 50

blake- as you can see, i've tightened WAYYY up to weather this storm. Overall the past two weeks I'm down $40.00 now. I suppose in the bigger picture, that's not all that much considering I've been playing a lot of 10 and 25nL lately.

But dang-- workin for 2 hours to earn a buyin, and having a monster hand crushed time and again definitely starts to shake yer confidence.

You'll notice though-- I've not said "rigged" yet, though I've considered writing pokerstars support a strongly worded letter if this keeps up.

Toward the end of the night tonight I managed to have a few hands hold up, so I'm hopeful that things may turn around for me.

haha wow, this is a far cry from not too long ago.

Well done!

To quote Doyle 'you got to play your rushes'
GL, hope you get in. Should be a lot of fun (although $20 bounties with a first prize of $60k+ seems a little weird)

My quickie background: been playing since v. late 2003 (go moneymaker lol). Used to play a ton online, cashed out when the UIGEA crap was going on...redeposited $500 around September or so last year....been floating in/around that since.

Currently at $870 even. Playing a mix of basically everything, the goal is pretty evident - make money

Most of my money is made in tournaments. Trying (for the first time ever honestly) cash games online. Sticking to NL FR for that since that's what I play live. I don't want to try and learn 6-max at the expense of getting into bad habits for Atlantic City.

First goal is obviously to get back to 1k, which I briefly hit. After that, it's just make money.

Basic Stats:
Tournament ROI 79% (last 120 days). Two final tables, won both.
Playing 10NL FR, about 4100 hands - 3.02 PTBB/100, 17.6/7.6/1.8 stats. Not impressive by any means, but I tend to only be playing ring between MTTs.

Hopefully can post as much good news as ya'll!
