I'm not sure if I'll make 30 days now. I could if I could put in more time- but with only 3 weeks left at work (and 4 before I leave state) my time may be consumed by last minute projects.

I don't mind being the first to start, and last to top 1000 though, as long as I slowly but surely get there!

Are you still aiming for 30 days?

GL Matt $200 is a decent size. What tourneys are you playing?

GL the rest
Been playing a lot of 8$ SNG's, $2 ones at work. When I can't pay much attention to it. Funny though is I've cashed every tournament, even at work.

My big win came from a $4 BI MTT. Won $164.

Thanks!

Any updates Gina? Anyone else have updates, Sput?

I feel a little guilty in saying this, but that 2nd transfer you sent me Gina has been burning a hole in my head, and I broke down and played with it on stars. I'm up to 3.45 now haha. Its been calling my name for days. :-\ eeek.

I'm out. Final tally:

May throw a few hundred at a WSOP quali effort.
Obv not worrying about bustoing the $5.91 makes this chalk and cheese with other posters. Just had a hell of a run. Definitely played with more focus, and confidence breeds confidence (no question I played a few awful hands in the latter tourneys) but being overrolled gives one freedom to try out stuff.

Awesome run Sput, hey what program is that you're using?
02-05-2008 , 02:07 PM
548 now. I seem to be going backwards. Hope this trend stops soon.

lol and GL Matt! It would be unbelievable if you could turn 3.45 into 1000! You should go for it, seriously.

They are web-based trackers.

Free (SS limited to 5 searches per day)

I will OPR any tournament opponents I find interesting. Well worth doing.

Gina had a nice tourney win early. Are you going for 100k sats now Gina?

502. I'm taking a beating. I've dropped to 10nl.

I've tried to review hands, and seriously don't see where I've played my hands wrong. I've put money in behind, but it's been when I've been pot committed, and the odds of hitting were better than the odds the pot was laying.

I've put money in ahead, and not frivolously, and have been beaten by a series of crazy hands.

and i'm also in this series of big pairs being underpairs.. like kk to aa.

i want to puke. I'm going to stay at 10nl even though I'm still marginally rolled for 25nl, until i get my feet back under me and regain some confidence.

sorry- don't mean to whine. I should be happy that my bankroll is 20x larger than it was 2 weeks ago.
02-06-2008 , 06:49 AM
your getting there though Im still struggling to break the $500 mark might just stay at 10NL until I get to $600

I started building my bankroll from a free no deposit of 30 dollars plus another 100 as i fullfilled the specific requirements from cdpoker..I recieved this 30 dollars last august and have played within my bankroll starting in micro sng's and micro rebuy mtts, aswell as micro HU tournys..and as my 30 dollars grew I stepped my levels up to medium levels and so on and so fourth but always playing within my bankroll.I have now made more than 15 thousand dollars just from that 30 dollars and cleared the bonus just by sticking to my plan of playing within my bankroll and at times alittle tight when i noticed some loss..just from that 30 dollars i am now classed a VIP player and get many rewards and weekly bonus's and free sponsored buyins to many big tournys at that site.

I do have 1 question though, I am very sucessful at cdpoker and just recently made a small deposit into pokerstars,But for some reason i cant find the sucess at this site as i did at the other..i am staying pretty average but just not profiting much..does anyone feel better at 1 site than the other? is it because i am very use to the players at 1 site and know most of them.Where as at pokerstars i do not know anyone?

I find it's always tough to start at a new site. Just getting used to the way the cards look, the sounds, where the buttons are, etc. throws me off a bit. Plus I have no notes, and game selection is harder.

I totally agree with that. My main site is Bodog, but i just have like 2 bucks on Stars that I'm playing with. I had the hardest time finding where the total pot amount was for like an hour. I finally found it and then would forget where it was 5 mins later. Very odd to me. I'm getting better at it now tho.
02-06-2008 , 10:46 AM
play 1 $ tourneys to build up your BR imo
02-06-2008 , 01:36 PM
*UPDATE*

Bodog still sitting the same, 214

I've been playing the .01/.02 NLHE tables on stars, working up from $2. I'm sitting at $12.47 right now. I downloaded PT since it works with stars, never bothered with it cause it wont work with Bodog. But so far my stats are 22/8.88/4.29 and 59BB/100 after 360 hands.

Did you get any stretches like this before you started this thread and pulled your roll out? Is this is your first or worst downswing?
02-06-2008 , 04:13 PM
This is fairly standard, though this run of beats has been particularly rough- losing to ppl who were big dogs in the hand when money went in, repeatedly.

The LP/TA style is high variance, and one of the biggest reasons I typically play 5 or 10 NL with a 500 roll instead of 25nL. I'm just a little less comfortable with it since I'm posting progress reports, haha.

My graphs usually look like a gentle downhill slope (as I get cheaply into pots, and have to fold when I don't hit a strong hand, followed by upward spikes).

classic example of my lagtard graphs- from 1st week of Nov. Must have been playing more TAG on a table at one point toward the end.

*Update*

My PS account starting from Gina's $2 she gave me for the sunday tourny I've turned into $17.04.

I've played 518 hands on PS with PT. And my current stats are 24/9.65/1.41 and i'm sitting at 64BB/100.

I'm playing Aggressive PF, and continuing to put on the heat Post flop when I have position. Now that i've started keeping track of stats, i'm starting to pick up some leaks, and realizing that in cash games, position plays a huge roll in things.

Hey guys.... update: BR ~$300.

Beat: my BR isn't as high as Sput and Gina's
Brag: I didn't need any huge swing via MTTs or Cash to build it
Variance: we're all probably going busted any way.

Good job guys, Gina I'm rooting for you to make 1K soon, Sput, congrats man, you run SICKLY.

Started off having a bit of a nightmare today but have brought it back and have managed to get my BR to $518.58 getting there slowly but surely might take a shot at 25NL tomorrow or later on tonight. came first in a 45 man sit n go on stars buy in was $5 first place $69. Lost a bit earlier set over set pretty sick.

ive been doing the same as you guys recently. started off with $50 on FTP just under 2weeks ago. i got it as high as 395 at one point but now im bk down to 290. nothing seems to be going my way with stts or cash atm. going to take a couple of days off and grind it bk (hopefully).

keep the updates coming and gl

thanks for the well wishes.

After my superfast takeoff- the last two weeks have been breakeven.
Swings n swongs n swings n swongs.
KK is a losing hand in my DB, and AA is breakeven.

I became so discouraged/semi-tilted that I've dropped back to the lowest stakes and am focusing on good decisions, rather than bankroll growth at the moment.

Current bankroll: 616.02 plus a 27dollar value step 2 ticket, and 11 tournament bux.

Hopefully being disciplined while this run of sick luck runs out it's course will restore my confidence.
