Aaaaand that's it.

$1242.26 and out. Strange to be disappointed with 2nd.

Gina your post made me do this. If you want a stake for a tourney above your BR pick one and let me know. Can do Stars and FT.
Maybe a FTOPS sat or something, whatever you like
May also stake someone $20 to do this, we'll see.
Mad week! Waiting for sharkscope to update

You get the first 1k we split the rest 50-50
But whatever you like up to $40.

May try to qualify for a FTOPS event. Play more of those 20+2 non-HE tourneys obv But give poker a miss for a few days first.
Now go win that tourney. First is 10k+ and 4k would be very welcome

Wow, I've tried this so many times and failed each time after ending my staking deal and have employed bankroll management (2NL/5NL with $25) and never manage to win. Sick to see people turning it into thousand(s).

Grats guys

hahaha! That is AWESOME!!!
Playing deep is fun, no?

BTW- I've been playing a little 5nl fullring, warming up for the 100k and Tilt tourneys later. (Thanks Sput, Thanks Tree!)

Wouldn't it be awesome if I could cash in both? lol. Here's hoping it being my bday brings good showdown karma.

Ok-- so my balance to date: (I've been slowly grinding and haven't made any huge leaps/bounds lately) is 634.53. Yay! I was stuck hovering just under 600 for a while so this is nice.
02-03-2008 , 04:44 PM
gogogo for the 100k!
Not railing, going to sleep. Hope you're still playing when I wake up
02-04-2008 , 10:19 AM
Dying to know how you did Gina, plz post results.
02-04-2008 , 12:45 PM
I am a self confessed (oxymoron I know) beginner, but your story has inspired me. Started on 1.2.2008 with br of $20.- ... after a long weekend battling now at $100.

Keep posting, it is interesting reading!
02-04-2008 , 01:09 PM
My balance is currently 568.12. I played a session last night (tired and not paying enough attention), and lost some pretty big key hands for stacks 3 times.

AA < QQ, Q hi flush (lol) < K high flush, and even got to experience the joys of set under set.

So ya-- it's back to 568 for me.

Also, in the Sunday 100k, I was playing pretty well and was 1000 out of 6500. Got into a flip situation (88 vs AK where villain was AK) with a crap flop- only overcard was a 9. I pushed, and AK called w/ two overs and a backdoor flush draw. Rivered a K. So I got knocked out before the money (though I'd do it again as a favorite in the hand, cuz I'd rather be positioned well, rather than only able to limp into the money).

I also played a 2.20/180 on Tilt with 1/2 the money Tree shipped me, but managed to bust out early through a couple second best hands.

The pokers been knocking me around lately.
02-04-2008 , 02:04 PM
Sorry to hear that Gina, I would say it sounds to me like its just variance. You played all the hands you talked about well, and had 2nd best. Tough run in that sunday 100k. Variance will tip back your way sooner or later good poker always outlasts variance.

I'm up to 214.87. Lost my $10 stack in a cash game, I really don't think cash is my game, I always tend to do horrible, and every SNG or Tourny I've played in since I started my run with that 6.99 I've cashed in, and I've played 10+ tournaments. I personally just think I have the mindset of a tournament player.
02-04-2008 , 02:21 PM
very good thread
02-04-2008 , 03:15 PM
im sorry to hear about the 88vsAK hand but atleast you played it right. and you have to win some coinflips to win tourneys. I was inspired by following your Build-A-Roll project and started my own. 30$, Stars, 1-3$ SNGs, unlimited time. "A Poor student's way to make a living"
02-04-2008 , 05:25 PM
Sorry about your cash losses Gina but you have a roll to get through it.
Winning coinflips is BASIC MTT strategy though
Are you still aiming for 30 days?

GL Matt $200 is a decent size. What tourneys are you playing?

GL the rest
