Because not everyone can beat nl10 for 3ptbb/100 whilst 12 tabling, but most decent grinders can.

Current Stake: 2NL
Site: Stars
Bankroll: $85 -> $131
Plan of Attack:
  • Keep playing, keep getting better.
  • Make it to 100NL by the end of the year. Plan to move to each new level when I get at least 30BI & 10K hands at that level. Not sure if that is too aggressive or not aggressive enough. I will see how it goes and adjust if need be
  • Reread all the COTW's and see what I can absorb this time that I didn't my first time through.
  • Play more hands. Start with 10k a month and move from there
  • Post more on twoplustwo
  • Read/reread a poker book or two (suggestions?)

My last session was the worst. I have been reading these threads and wondering how anyone could ever have a major downswing at 2NL and now I found out exactly how! Just one of those days where nothing goes right. I was down $17 at one point and ended up down $9. Twice I had it all-in with the best hand against 2 players and lost both times. Once was with AA preflop against 99 & KK. 9 on the flop, K on the river. Done. I plan on posting the other hand once I get the HH from my other computer, because I'm not 100% sure I played it right. Down $8 on those two hands instead of up $16 Also, got AA 2 other times, lost once and the other one nobody calls my preflop raise! Sigh.

I was pretty proud of myself though for not going on tilt and adjusting my game to get some of it back from a couple of 87/40/.5 types that were calling any preflop raise and going to the river with any draw or small piece of the board. Might play a little more tonight, but most likely I won't be playing until January. Looking forward to a new year of playing.

Site: Stars
BR: $500

Game Plan:
-- Multi-table (15-25). I've been playing higher stakes ($20 DONS)but only 6-9 tables at a time, but have decided to move down stakes so I can be comfortable adding a lot of tables
-- Move up as soon as I'm comfortable with playing 25 tables on my laptop

It's more like $400 I start taking a shot.. I look for super weak tables when games are generally softest (friday-sunday).. I load up a few tables and watch them like hawks.. and if I find a good one, I waitlist it.. if not I pop open a few more. if I can't find a good one, I wait for another day. I'll 2 table 10nl and 1 table 25nl, so long as I stay above 375.. once I hit like 450ish.. i'll move to 1 10nl and 2 25nl.. and then at 500 I move to 3 25nl tables. It's odd, but it's what I've found works for me.

I know its only shots but you dont even have 20 BI's.
A bit.. but I've worked very hard on knowing when I'm outmatched at the table.. knowing when I'm uncomfortable.. just generally knowing when I really shouldn't be sitting at a higher level. I would say I have more confidence in knowing myself in that manner than I do my poker skill.

Very true... but then again, not every feels 3BB/100, or 12 tabling, @ 10nl is acceptable..... but that's all personal preference.

Hi yall.

Still kinda new to posting here, but long time lurker.

I am going to jump aboard this ship for inspiration and motivation. Hopefully we can share in success together.

Current stake - 5NL
Site - Stars
Bankroll - $76
Plan of attack...

4 table 6 max NL. Play 500 hand sessions. Review hand historys and leaks after every session, then play some more. I have also been spreadsheeting my sessions which I add P&L and comments on the HH reviews.

Recently my big leaks are as follows...

Playing shorties - do not do. They go all in far to much and I end up calling AQs and stacking against J4o. These situations generally do not go my way...

Getting stacks in with big pairs - KK & QQ. IMO not the best idea without a decent read. For example, my biggest losses last session were...

KK v K6s
KK v 66
QQ v K8o

This is a personal fav btw, villian was drooler. And yeah I was dead after the turn, but I thought there was value to be had

I'll take this bet, either within 20 days or 30 days, depending on odds. Give me odds or a range of them depending on length, here or PM.

Just played my final hands of 2009. My bankroll is at it's highest at $138 .

Now roll on the new year...

3ptbb, 12+ tabling at 10nl is a piece of cake. I uesd to 10+ table but I find it more satisfying to watch these donks make mistakes over and over. It's also way easier to stack when you watch players tendencies. Back to 4-6 tabling for me.

from 3figure to 6figure PROP BET in 2010 anyone?
12-31-2009 , 04:31 PM
So I thought I had a $50 br, but realized I had to take some money out. My bankroll is really $15. I will go back an edit the post later.

Right now I am doing a $0.10 turbo SNG. Decided that if I could own some donks real fast I could add like $5 to my roll. Hopefully.
12-31-2009 , 04:47 PM
So say some guy like me offered to take that challenge of 1000 bucks in 10nl within 30 days. What kind of odds do you all think would be fair?

With the lack of serious hours at my job and playing the stakes anyway I might be interested in taking it on as a motivator/+ev bet. I can't 12 table but I could easily 8 table 6max...

I still may try it just to see how hard it is/even possible for me.

Edit: Just saw Ro accepted it but I'm still interested in possibly taking small action for it too.

How do you do the hand converter thing?

I was surprised to see this thread as its not even 2010 yet and Im already in on the 2nd page.

Current stake: 10NL (6max) on both Stars/FTP
bankroll $330/$430

My plan of attack is to continue to focus on 6max cash and be playing 25NL by end of 2010. I will manage my poker playing time by 30% study and the other 70% of playing.

GL everyone.
