ok.. against my better judgement.. I went with the name of the new thread
Still not convinced on whether we should do a monthly, quartly, semi-annual or annual thread.. so meh.. we'll just go with the flow.

Maybe make your first post in the thread a quick mention of how things are going... and what your plan of attack is for the next little bit.

Current Stake: 10nl
Site: RPM Poker

Plan of Attack

I'm starting the year at 10nl on RPM Poker (Merge Network) with 25 buy-ins. I plan to start taking shots at 25nl when I hit $375-400, and moving down to 4nl if my bankroll falls to $180. I plan on 3-4 tabling, while taking good notes and reviewing sessions every night I play. After a few months I plan on putting approx. $200-250 onto Poker Stars (from money I save up), so that I can grind my favorite sng, $4/180man sngs.. as a substitute for most tournaments.

If I'm able to hit 50nl this year (which I easily think I can) I plan on moving some money onto Bodog, via eWalletXpress, so that I can table select across several sites. I may also add a third site that supports eWalletXpress if I can't consistently get 3-4 good tables going whenever I play.

2010.. new year.. new us... let's go go go!!!

For motivation (even if it is an sneaker slogan.. I still like it)

No excuses bitches.

Current Stake: 5nl
Site: FT
BR: 33 Buy-Ins built from $18 since Dec 1st

Goal: Stop tilting against SS'ers/stop playing when I'm tired/ learn, learn, learn / be up to 25nl+ by summer

Muahaha. So pumped my at thread title.

Current Stake:10nl 6Max on Stars
Current BR:336

Plan of attack is to keep grinding away at 10 nl. I've been pretty much only 5-6 tabling 6max at the higher levels since it becomes a bit chaotic and I think I play optimally when I'm making reads and not being a robot. Goal is to hopefully start taking shots at 25nl at around 450-500. My medium term goal is to get to 50nl HU but that's going to require me to jump off the deep end so I may grind 25nl6max and HOPEFULLY 50nl 6max to build a bit of a "side' roll for learning that game.

Good luck everyone.

Gonna Depo $50 on FTP and try and be at nl100 by the start of june GL Everyone

12-31-2009 , 02:48 AM
Current Stake: 10nl
Site: PokerStars
BR: $190

Goal: Build BR until I make the jump to 25NL and higher.

Happy New Years everyone and GL at the tables.
12-31-2009 , 03:36 AM
Current Stake: 10nl
Site: Pokerstars
Bankroll: $335

Plan of Attack

Play 10NL until I have 25 BI for 25NL, move up ... rinse and repeat until I reach 200NL by the end of the year ... move down if I breach the 5 BI buffer below each stake.
12-31-2009 , 04:03 AM
Nice gamble with the thread title, Ice_W0lf. Winnar, imo

Current Stakes: 20NL
Site: Cake
Bankroll: $520

Plan of Attack:
First, I got off my lazy ass and got a job, so no more robbing my BR, which crept up to $2,300 at one point--not so long ago, for life junk (Yeah, yeah, not so thinly veiled brag/beat).

I'm going to play 20NL HU primarily, mixing in a little bit of 6-max. I'll probably stick to 2-4 HU tables & 4-6 6-max, but I'm open to tossing in some RB-whoring on 8-10 tables once my roll is a little bit healthier (33%+ RB, so I need to bite the bullet on my anti-18/15 RB-whoring stance).

I'm definitely going to start using my Gold Cards/Gold Chips to play in more MTTs, even though I hate them. I had a few deep runs recently, but managed to choke & bubbled in all of them, so I'm hopeful I can give my BR a nice shot in the arm here shortly.

I'm undecided upon how aggressively I'm going to move up the stakes, so I'll update that when I reach a firm decision. Since I've got a job now, I'll probably be more aggressive with my shot-taking than I was the past few months, so hopefully 50NL will be on the docket soon. After doing a year-end review of my HEM, I found I fared far worse during my 50NL shots than I'd realized though, so I'm a bit jittery about the move up.

I'm going to recommit to yoga & working out in the New Year, as I feel self-control is a huge weakness for me @ the tables and I play beneath my skill level 90% of the time I think if I manage to master my tilt, I might be able to pull off a JackWilcox-ish run through the stakes (best case scenario obv). Okay, ok--I hope to go on such a tear. I think it's conceivable, if not likely. I'm definitely going to get some coaching once I'm rolled to move up as I seem to get 20NL, but remain clueless beyond.

GDit. That was sposed to be short.

Current Stakes: 25nl
Site: Stars
Bankroll: $555

Plan of Attack:
Not gonna make a set goal of what limit I wanna be at by the end of the year but I'm gonna climb the limits as high as I can. Hopefully get SN some time this year.

Make more money playing poker than I will during my summer job. (Will still work my summer job cuz its fun)

Current Stakes: 10nl
Site: Stars
Bankroll: $450

Plan of Attack:
Take a shot when I hit $500. Bankroll plan is to Move up when 20bi and move down when 10bi. Cash out when I reach 600nl. Make 6 figures.

SUPER AGGRESSIVE BANKROLL MANAGEMENT WITHOUT EVER GOING BUSTO.

I WILL CALL IT 20/10

it's a winnar indeed

Current Stakes: 10NL 6max
Site: Stars / Ipoker
Bankroll: $240

Plan of Attack:

re-learn some basic stuff, and actually put effort in to improving all round.
mentally alter my approach to the game.
hit stars early in the new year to clear some fpps then go back to ipoker where i have rb.
insert some 25nl tables when the timing/br allows
hit 50nl towards the end of the year.

that's my main br plan - i want to also improve my tourney play and learn some other variants at the micros but i think i will set aside some money from br to do this.

in on the ground floor

After a crap year my plan of attack is as follows

Current Stakes: Micro Multitable SNGs
Site: PokerStars
Bankroll: $84

Plan Of Attack (thanks to Boku87 for inspiration)

Starting with the $1.10 45s and 90s the plan is to get to $100 before adding in some $1.75 18 seater turbos, at $150 will move onto the $3 45s and mix in some $1s until i have 70-80 buy-ins for the $6 sngs again mixing in some lower buy-ins. I will then move up everytime i reach 70 buy-ins for the next level and will drop down a level if required.

I can easily multitable 20-25 tables at a time and plan on playing around 5hrs per night.

First Goal is to get to $1000 by mid january.

UPDATE
BR: $215

Played 4 tables tonite leading into New Years. (Comes to us first here in NZ) I know it's sad to be playing the pokerz on New Years Eve but hey, that's the grinder lifestyle.

I 4-tabled 1 of each of the following (because it's New Years Eve and I was drinking )
--2NL
--5NL
--10NL
--25NL

Funnily enough, the majority of my increased bankroll came from 25 and 10NL, even though I played my same nitty style on all 4 tables. Here's one memorable hand.

Poker Stars $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

CO: $29.45
BTN: $9.35
Hero (SB): $39.25
BB: $25.00
UTG: $30.60

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is SB with Q Q
3 folds, Hero raises to $1, BB calls $0.75

Flop: ($2.00) 8 2 5 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.50, BB raises to $4.75, Hero raises to $8, BB calls $3.25

Turn: ($18.00) 2 (2 players)
Hero bets $10.50, BB calls $10.50

River: ($39.00) 3 (2 players)
Hero bets $19.75 all in, BB calls $5.50 all in

You figure it out. Gonna hit those 10NL tables hard over the next few days (if I don't go away that is.) Later y'all.

Strange - I just read the Aristotle quote then clicked in this thread and saw it... I love quotes, so I'll add:

A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline. - Harvey Mackay

Current Stakes: 2nl
Site: PokerStars
Bankroll: $131

2010 is a big year for me, Poker wise. It was only towards the latter of this year that I moved into cash, knuckled down and started consistantly winning (well, inconsistantly consistantly winning..).

My goals for 2010:
  • Move up to 25nl by the end of the year.
  • Likewise, reach $1,000 by the end of the year
  • Focus at all times, avoiding playing whilst not feeling focused.
  • Improve mentally as a person and apply it to the tables.
  • Keep feeling motivated every day - thus learning and improving constantly
  • Don't fall out of love with Poker if I go on a downswing.
  • Oh, and become a part of the 2+2 community .

Why thank you .

It will be fun seeing how we all progress in this thread.
12-31-2009 , 09:13 AM
tekken- I wouldn't recommend the 1.75/18s.. the .25c rake on a $1.50 buyin is absolutely ridiculous.
12-31-2009 , 09:20 AM
Current Stakes: 6 max micro sngs, mtts but moving to cash
Site: Full tilt and stars mainly, have funds on the ipoker network
Bankroll: ??? I'm going to top up my balance so that i have €50 ($72.50) on both tilt and stars.

Plan of Attack:
aaahhhh... this is the big one. alot of work to do for uni at the min, with exams now in 6 days, then again 8 days later. So I may have to leave poker out for a bit... its not that hard, right?

2010 is defo goin to be the biggest poker year for me. after playing the game for around 2 nad a half years, its time for me to become a proper winning player. Aiming to finish the year with over $1,000 on both networks, or else 2,000 altogether, providing i find the time to play consistently with university. I'm starting the big grind this year, wish me luck!!

My goals for 2010:
  • Discipline. I started a thread about this the last day, and got loads of advice, so now im goin to master this art.
  • Focus. As i said this year is big for me in poker, so im goin to need to be focused, right from the offset.
  • Apply different styles to my game, learn to mix it up, and at the right times..
  • Never stop learning. And may i just remind everyone reading, the only mistakes we can make, are the ones we dont learn from..
  • End the year +$2000 all goin well, and maybe win a big one if at all possible!.

All the best with your goals guys, this thread could be key to my motivation to do well, thanks ice wolf for posting.

Imo i think u should do it monthly, so we can always start each month on a fresh bill of health, to keep focused. If we have a winning or losing month, we know its behind us and the month ahead is the one to focus on!

Current Stake: 50NL
Site: FTP
Bankroll: 1550$

Goal: Grind it up to 3000$ and move up to 100NL as soon as possible, make a small deposit on Cake to start playing HU probably at 20NL for at least 5k hands to get a feel for it.

Also transform my 100$ bankroll on PS into something by grinding SnG's and DoNs, taking the ocasional MTT shots.

Become able to grind a bunch of MTTs every sunday without it affecting my bankroll too much.

Hopefully reach 200NL before 2011

Ice, when you take a shot with 15bis are you going to play one table of 25nl and then move back to 10nl if you drop below $375? Just curious of how you are going to approach taking a shot because I'm close to taking a shot as well.
