GAH!!!! My BR is still trickling away

Played 2000 hands of break-even poker over the last 2 days, topped off 20 minutes ago by a KK<AA cooler. I still need a HUD, but almost don't want to bother if I can't beat 5NL without it.

BR: $156

My table selection seems to have improved greatly, as I'm now actively looking for fish with smaller stacks or 30/40+ VPIP and valuetowning them.

This is my new motto:
"Everyone hits monsters now and then. Only those who table select well will get those monsters paid off."

BR:$550->$625

Plus $10 in Stellar Rewards and $11 TD from a 280FPP sat.

For those of you running poorly or experiencing a downswing, I am returning up to where my BR used to be before my 10BI downswing. Variance goes both ways.

BR-80

Pretty meh results. I've barely been playing. I plan on picking up my grind big time in Sept-Nov. Would be nice to grind up something to play with in Vegas.

Starting over.

I have:

$144 on Stars, pending $50 bonus, 229/350 VPPs cleared for that, playing 5NL.

$35 on FTP. playing 2NL

$32 on AP, playing 2NL.

My all time graph for cash is atrocious. The red line is where the green line is supposed to be, and vice versa.

I bought the LeakBuster and it found 15 Leaks, so I'll be reviewing that all week instead of playing.

go me.
08-18-2010 , 10:41 PM
Hey random, I've thought about getting leakbuster before but was not really sure how useful it would ever be, and didn't want to waste the time until I'd built up a good number of hands to run it on. Let me know if it's any good please

I highly recommend it, but like you said have a decent DB. I've 200k hands so that should be somewhat accurate.

Of course, the flip side is, you'd think I would have learned something by now.

Lesson of the night: When they 4bet, they always have AA.

11 BI down at 5NL and counting...FML. I thought 2nl and 5nl were the same, but I'm not crushing the latter at all.

Playing 5NL Rush should be okay, it's gonna take you a while to clear the entire $600 tho.
08-19-2010 , 02:07 AM
had a overall marginal day on stars... first 2khands was down $8 at 5nl then my next 1khands had won $15-16 then the last thousand hands i was card dead & dropped $4 so for the day im up $3 hhaha... pretty garbage considering i played 4khands but whatever... going to go have some fun 1tabling 6max for a hour or so then off to bed
08-19-2010 , 02:37 AM
played 40hands of 6max & up a buy in, end my session for the night woot.. still mediocre overall day but lagging it up at 5nl 6max 1tabling alwyas makes me smile...

Hey Masq my brother from another mother. Is this a standard calldown? Since all the draws are busted? or are we too afraid of a lone jack or random 2 pair? (lol i have 2 pair too  )
btw. I didn't 3bet pre, cause first of all it isn't suited but more importantly I am out of position. I rather play only small pots oop, ldo.

I think it's fine to not be 3betting this pre-flop especially as your AA isn't suited and the other cards don't connect well with it. I don't really like building big pots with AAxx OOP, i'd consider the 3bet if it's ds or if I can get a lot of my stack in pre-flop though.

One thing you have to remember about the micro stakes PLO is people rarely bluff and are largely betting for value. I'd actually be a nit and just consider folding the flop seeing as it's unlikely we're going to improve from here and even if I hit the A it could potentially complete the OESD. The board isn't really draw heavy, there's the straight draws KT/T9 which missed but aside from that I wouldn't say there was many draws on there which you could put villain on that have missed on the river. I'll say that the turn bet sizing is interesting that they do half pot on turn when board pairs and then fire close to pot on river. I don't really see what we're hoping to beat to hope a hand like top pair is taking this line is a bit optimistic and I guess wrap hands could play it this way, you need to have a good read on your opponent that they're going to bluff with busted draws on the river. It smells like you're beaten here I think, it could be 22 by the way they bet turn but either way I don't think AAxx is good enough here to make the call profitable in the long run.

That's pretty much my opinion on it, but you can always take it to micro PLO sub-forum and see what others think. You need to play the AAxx hands very carefully when you miss flop as very often you'll be behind and it's not good to be putting in 100bb drawing almost dead as it can get very costly. Do you want that article on PLO I mentioned in a previous post?
08-19-2010 , 08:59 AM
thanks as always great insight.
i am a plo nub. have a lot to learn.
btw i play on ftp rush plo. you should check it out.
08-19-2010 , 09:04 AM
Why not play a bit smaller then if you're learning? Do you want the article to read up on some basics. I'm not playing on FTP atm as I don't have rakeback, otherwise i'd probably be playing there. If you're playing rush then you pretty much need to nut peddle rather than try make soul reads like the hand you posted; as you just don't have enough information on villain to make the call profitable. What was results of hand? I'm guessing AA was no good in this spot?
