Bankroll...

RPM: $327
Bodog: $273
FTP: $329
Stars: $2

Total: $930ish

Plan of attack:

20k hands at 25nl... review how I'm doing... if I'm doing well then I'll start taking shots at 50nl.

Some of us are starting to inch closer to the awesome ssnl world.... some of us are starting to learn what it takes to beat the micros so that they can join the ssnl soon enough... let's gogogogogo!!!

first!!

How many PM's did you get? Did Blane win by default? Nice graph and i'd like to think I helped out with it a little, i'm sure I can see my contribution in that graph somewhere

I got 2 I think I did a poor job running the contest because I set it up then went away for 2 weeks. I'm hoping next time to have a bigger prize (hopefully I'll be at ssnl by then and can afford a bigger prize ) and to run a better contest.. but I really liked blane story and I've always been partial to the phrase micro ballin/ micro ballers

I'm getting back in to poker just as a new build a bankroll thread starts. Excellent timing!

Planning to deposit about $100 on FTP and hit the 5nl tables and grind it up from there. Is there still an FTP vs PS rake debate going on, or are they both pretty much considered equal since FTP lowered their microstakes rake?
08-16-2010 , 06:11 PM
Not sure..but not only did ftp lower their micro rake...but poker stars started raking pots under $1
08-16-2010 , 06:13 PM
Current BR: $655
Stakes: 10/25NL
Goal: $1,000 by October ... $1,250/50NL by end of the year

Great to be back in a new BABR thread!

Roll is 215 on FT. Recently decided to flip from SNGs to Cash so I'm still trying to make sure I build a solid foundation to move through the various levels and want to start from the ground up.

With that being said...

Plan of attack is to grind through 15-20k hands of 2NL not with the intention of building the roll but to prove that I can be a winning player at the level. If I can show a solid winrate through my last 15-20k hands then I move up to 5NL (bankroll is already enough for it) and continue the grind.

Workin' full-time so I usually can only get in an hour or two of 4-tabling so that many hands will still take me a couple weeks.

In between, lurk and post in this thread and the Beginner Questions, NVG, Goals & Challenges, and Micro NL forums!

Current Br: $174
Stake: 5nl
Goal: $250 to start taking shots at 10nl.

Gonna try updating this everyday My goal is to play at least 500 hands/day. Also, trying to get rakeback on my FTP account to move my br out of stars.

Im currently thinking of building a bankroll from a few hundro and trying to get SN before the end if the year, and do it mixing up games. Pretty sure if i do ill decide to do it in goals n challenges but ill still have to call in here with some updates ldo

Goal: Survive my second month of play

Start with 75$ drop to 3$, get back to 46$ drop down again to this actual BR.
I done alot of experimentation and now i will concentrate playing on SNG45 love this format.

I run good . Ice if you can send it to me on Stars that'd be sweet but if it's a hassle my FTP name is the same as my stars one which is ofc BlaneH. So creative.

Anyway, no real updates.

BR-84

I'm freerolling on this entire roll. It's amazing what you can do with FPPs if you save em up. I'm silverstar and have a $50 stellar reward to unlock so I should be in grind mode.
08-16-2010 , 08:02 PM
BR = $180 on FTP
Goal: focus and grind 10NL and actually consistently put decent volume in

lately i've been dealing with a lack of motivation to play but hopefully i can turn that around. i think i can still make bronze ironman this month even though i didnt play much so far

I'm in the same boat right now ... 1,000 FPP's = $50?! yaaayyyyyyyyyyy!!!

1st update of this thread -- played 1 hour of 10NL 4-tabling, starting to run well again finally after 15-20,000 hands of the worst runbad I have seen in my career thus far! This downswing has forced me to really think about ranges in a way that I haven't before, and to tighten up when there's a fish on your left ... your suited connectors lose value when they are calling any raise you make!

$655 --> $671

Last edited by unbjames; 08-16-2010 at 08:47 PM. Reason: got fish positions mixed up ... right vs left

br: 530
Goal: to reach 625 so i can take a well rolled shot at 25nl (took shots with 500 twice) run bad plus felt slightly uncomfortable

Doubt it.... I'm actually going to give the 15BB challenge a go sometime in the next week or so..... even though I'm awful at lhe

I have no clue how to play LHE but always seem to win. It's cause I love betting and hate folding. What is this 15BB challenge?

Why: As we follow our BR nit journey through the limits, each new limit is a big shock. Here's a way to parlay a short rush up through limits and gain experience. Given the low initial buy-in (relative to your total BR), you are risking very little RoR wise.

HOW: you pick a starting level. You turn off auto rebuy, and you buy in for 15 big bets. You go bust, you go bust. You don't have to go all-in; you can quit whenever you want. When you hit 15BB (big bets) for the next limit, you quit and take your new "bankroll" to that limit. Rinse and repeat. If you're on FTP, you get a nice 8/16 level to help you up. On PS, you have a big jump from 5/T to 10/20. You can choose to play to your BB or quit immediately. Your chances of moving up are slightly better if you sit out right away, but if you're in a good game, you're sacrificing EV. No sissy moving down.

When can I quit? Whenever you want. It it probably a good idea to have an idea of "life changing money". For example, a .5/1 player who makes it to 15/30 would have ~$500 in front of him and potentially an amount larger than his whole BR on the table. The idea is to reset your threshold of fear and play at new limits. Quit then, or consider it an insane parlay. All up to you.

What limit do I start? It depends on you. I'd recommend starting at your highest normal limit or one limit higher, if you're comfortable with your BR. The idea is to chase a win up to see new heights. Play 6m, FR, or HUHU. As long as it is LHE, I don't care.

That looks like fun! Might give that a shot after I've seen how well my bankroll survives my play.

When did FTP reduce their rake, and what were the details? I was unaware of any recent changes.
