Currently...

$650 on stars
$100 on full tilt, with $50 in pending bonus.

Current plan... nut-peddle 5nl rush to clear the bonus this week... hope to show some profit during that time... move that money back to stars and grind out some 10nl to get my cash rust off.. then give 25nl a shot. Play 4/180s, and a few mtt's that I enjoy, on Sundays.

Also, need to make myself a better schedule for playing. This past month I've spent pretty much auto-piloting poker (along with the rest of life)... and it really showed in my results.. so I'm going to spend the next week or two figuring out a better life schedule.

If you advertise enough, you might get sponsored like Colbert did with Doritos

wasn't planning on it... isn't my constant presence in beginners special enough?

quite handy that my old bankroll got decimated along with the thread lol!

BR = $155 all on stars.
Want to clear the first Stellar reward, and get silver star by the end of the month. Circa 300 vpps to go for that, then clear my deposit bonus which would be about another 400 on top of that.
02-23-2010 , 09:09 AM
BR = $265 on stars

about to cement my place into 10NL after a frustrating time at 5NL , first i must do some reading up on the level
02-23-2010 , 09:15 AM
BR 680ish
Steaks - 10nl 6max only

Running over 20bb/100 over ~15k hands. (running hotter than fire obv)

Want to get comfortable playing more than 4 tables.
Learn to exploit and crush regs that I feel are better than me now.
Learn more exploitative betting patterns vs fish/reg/ok players
Start using my HUD
Move up to 20nl when I hit 1k.
Not play inebriated, nor use chat box.

BR = 1087

Turbo sngs still going pretty well despite losing severel AA and KK hands over the last cupla sessions.

Pretty much asking for it though since i min raise someones BB from the SB in almost every situation (bizzare) which just screams steal. Obviously they re-steal and hit so gg to that .

Anyway i was looking at the stars Vip program and i'm pretty much attracted to the milestones at supernova. I'll move over to there if i reach the 22s at 100BI.s Will take me around 3 months at the 22.s over there to reach Supernova not counting if i move up to the 30s.

Here we go again.

BR= $2,711
Game = 50NL6max (I don't play anthing else)
Currently not running as hot as Tankgirl

Although I'm not sure how long this thread will last I will make some goals.
1) Get to 50Bis for 100NL6max ($5,000 bankroll)
2) Gold medal in Iron Man every month until I get to 100NL
3) Continue to improve my game and start preparing for serious poker.

Good luck all!

can anyone give me advice or link me a thread on beating 10nl ?
thanks
02-23-2010 , 09:58 AM
I might join in this one.

BR = ~$1100.

How I got there from ~$200 ish

Play 10NL marginal winrate, get to 1800 FTP , play a sat for a $26 token, get 3rd in a 90 man $24+2 for ~$250.
Play moar 10NL, tilt, play 200NL at 60BB/100 for 600 hands boom $900 bankroll.

Withdraw $800, deposit $600 for first deposit bonus.

Play 25NL rush at currently a miserable 2ptbb/100 for 20k hands + $160 bonus + 80 in RB + $140 in RB pending for this month.

That's about it

Plans; play moar 25NL Rush 4-tabling till dunno....

Any thought?
02-23-2010 , 10:03 AM
lol..don't tilt and play 200nl is my thought

2BB at rush isn't terrible.. I would recommend filtering your rush hands, and find out what players you play the most and add notes on them... so that you aren't playing hands readless or just with "hud" stats..... it can help out a ton.

First time I've got in on the beginning of one of these threads.

Bankroll $193 on stars climbing again after taking a dive playing 10nl 6max.
Moved back over to 5nl FR.

Gonna hit $200 this week hopefully (variance / my game allowing) and bump up to nl10 FR.
Want to make it to $500 by August or before and start grinding 25nl.
Got a couple of chances in the school holidays along the way to put in some 40 hour + weeks. I want to see how sustained grinding effects my game and if I find it as fun as I do now.

I might switch to full tilt for the rake. Also going to try going back to betfair.

GL at the tables.

I don't have HEM, I use PT3.
Is there a Rush-compatible PT3 build yet?

I did start to make a lot of notes tho, just open the note when you enter a pot HU.

Another plan tho is play max 2-3k hands a night, I tend to overdo it and end up with 10k days :{ It's affecting my game I think but I just can't stop when I just made a couple of BI.
02-23-2010 , 10:09 AM
I don't think so.. but what you can do, if you want to do the work and get some reads... is figure out who you've played with the most.... find hands where they go to showdown, see how they play draws, monsters pre.. monsters post etc.... go into the full tilt client.. search for the player... but instead of clicking search, click player notes, and put your notes on the player in there..... they'll be available for you next time you play. I've gone through this process a few times since I noticed I would see a lot of the same players alllll the time... and knowing how they play different hands is huge. It's saved me a few buyins against monsters and won me some extra money in thin spots. Just knowing that most of the players in those rush games won't bother to take the time to get reads like this, imo, gives me a leg-up on the competition.

Out of curiosity... why switch games when moving up?

Great tip, didn't know that was possible.
Software is in some parts superior to Pokerstars'....

"Why switch games when moving up"

Short answer - I wish I hadn't.

I started with a fresh deposit and HEM at the start of this year. Last year i played a mix of Live and Online, tournaments, FR and 6 max and did alot of reading and research on 2+2, literature and elsewhere.

I went on a bit of a heater playing on the 2nd and 3rd of Jan, my winnings line is nearly vertical over the first 1000 hands of 2NL FR. This trend continued into 5NL FR which again I crushed in a heater stylee. I moved up to 10NL FR and things got a bit more swingy.

Then I decided to switch to 10NL 6 max (partly because alot of the 'how to beat the micros' posts I had read refered to 6 max and I thought i'd give it a go + liked the idea of clocking more hands per hour and therefore VPP).

THIS WAS STUPID!

Things went extremely swingy, and then I lost 6/7 buy ins. Some through coolers and set ups but some through simply forgetting my fundamentals and getting money in in marginal situations.

Either way.

I had a weekend off and started again at 5nl FR and feel much more in control again. My win rate is alot steadier as I've introduced more pot size control into my game and I'm looking for the fat value always and avoiding the marginals so much. It might not be television poker but I like it!

I'm not frightened of the 10nl FR game but I want to be properly rolled for it (Ie another $7 !).

Out of interest does anyone have any tips or stories about switching from FR to 6 max at some point in their play?

I made the switch after 2 unsuccessful stabs at 10nl fr a few years ago when I was terrible at poker... so I can't help much. If you wanted to switch to 6max, even if it's just to switch things up sometimes, I would def recommend doing it at a stake smaller than your full ring stake..... but you probably learned that already .

PT3 was rush compatible before HEM was...
