You think KQ/QT/Q9/Q8 are going to fold to a raise on the flop? Without knowing how villain plays they might call with KT/T9 too.

If vil only ever has Qx then yes, raising makes sense. However vil has a lot more than just Qx.

Vil quite often has a mid PP, Jx or some such. Qx is getting it in by the river anyway considering he is short stacked regardless of whether you call or raise now, everything else folds to a raise.

You have to ask yourself: "why is villain donk betting?"

There could be any number of answers to this. A donk bet does not mean vil has Qx. Let's face it, a short-mid stack with Qx is getting it in by the river regardless of what we do, so we need to base our actions around extracting the max from the remainder of vils range.

Vil could have:
Qx, JJ. With these vil will be all-in no matter what we do. Raising flop or turn is irrelevant as neither hero nor vil is folding.
PP or Jx. Vil likely folds to a raise, we may get another bet out of vil if we call and bet small on a later street. Small-mid pocket pairs make up a surprisngly large range of flop donk bets from what I have seen.
Draw. We may get another street of value out of a draw that we wouldn't if we raise now.
Air. Vil isn't calling a raise with air but may catch on the turn or try a second barrel.
******ation. This fortunately makes a disturbingly non-0 part of many vils range. Vil folds to a raise but tries a multi-street bluff if we call.

I was going to be pleased with myself if I could put in 30k hands / month! 300k / month is crazy talk!!! Currently also at NL10, race you to NL100 I'm also trying to get there within 6 months.

(gave up on the PLO idea, hate BR nittery which means I would be busto in no time).

Denks im at 10NL, (just!) and I try put around 30k hands in a month too.

Whats your roll at? Im unsure when to move to 25NL as its a bigger jump 30 BIs would be $750, might need more though.

I'm rather aggro with my BRM approach so I would not recommend anybody to do the same unless they are comfortable moving down if required. I'm working on 20BI with the assumption that any session I start below this threshold I move down in stakes. Currently at around $430 so need to hit $500 to take a shot at NL25.

Im at $440 so this should be interesting. I play 6 tables at a time so would be hard to move up to 25NL with $500 for me. Iv only just moved upto 10NL though this month.

Just finished another rollercoaster of a session. I started off spewing a few stacks. Getting it in with the nuts and getting freerolled and they always seem to hit Getting caught in bluffs etc. I was swinging between break even and down a few buy-ins. Eventually managed to get on the good side of some big pots and finished up 6 buy-ins after 1200 hands. I could have won another 2 buy-ins if I played a pot a bit differently....I have T997 and go to the flop 3 way. Flop comes T96ss BB checks, I check, CO bets, BB moves all in and it comes to me with middle set + gutshot. I took the wimpy line and mucked as it's so obv someone has 87. CO ended up calling with AAQJ, BB had the 87 and the turn was a T

This one was pretty tilting. Should have got it all in pre.

1. you give yourself stupid stacksizes for future streets. cib there is literally pointless.

2. look at his flop sizing, look at the board texture, look at your hand

sounds like you are leveling yourself/clicking buttons a ton

Wondering what my second game should be for a bit of R+R once a week. Choices are:
1) PLO
2) LHE
3) SnGs (up to 180 man)
4) Learn a bit of all the games in 8-game.

Decisions decisions...?

I'm really glad I took a day off poker. Two of the next three days have been great and I'm back over 0 for the month (actually, 150bb over... 350bb after bonuses). It helps to clear your head I guess.

CO checks, Hero ?

There's no way he calls me preflop with T6 so I've got 12 outs to the nuts here. If I have any fold equity at all this is an easy shove (Villain has about $3.80 behind). Villain's stats are strange though. He's limping a ton and not being very aggressive which suggests he's chasing with speculative hands. On the plus side I am way ahead of a pure draw but am behind hands like 66, 98, TT or JJ. (Then again in those cases the Ace and sometimes 9 are outs for me). Of course he could have hit a set too and spoil some of my heart outs but that's not too likely.

If it's approximately a coinflip though I should just go the aggro route and ship it, right?

If he is not aggro and will never bluff a river then there is no reason to shove. You have showdown value with your A-high so you beat most random overcard combinations. You will never fold out TT, JJ or most pairs against a passive calling station so there is no point trying.

Oh my...what a tilting session. I start off (wearing my jumper) and go up close to 3 buy-ins in a very short space of time. I take it off and then hell broke loose. I started to run bad which brought on some mild tilt, the 3 buy-ins went + another 4. Eventually got back to even, then lost back 3. Put on my jumper for the run good and got back to even and finished up a buy-in. 3k hands for the day +7 buy-ins. I still need to work on my tilting a bit and my bluff frequencies before I move up which might be in the next week or so depending on how things go.

This is how I started my session, pretty easy game
