flatting is fine

we'd be folding turn if raised. his range for calling turn+river is gonna be wider than his range for calling basically. you would be surprised how often fish and bad regs alike will check back turn with spades, 5x, 8x, 66-99 etc but will call two streets with them if you give them the opportunity to.

basically the idea is that people c-bet flops too liberally and don't v-bet turns thinly but tend to be stations when we deny them initiative.

I think I played another 1k hands. Admittedly I made one spewy play which tilted me a bit. I didn't run super hot this session but still managed to finish up about a buy-in. I think that puts me up about 7 buy-ins on the day + I unlocked a $50 stellar bonus.

A nice turn for me

Standardish cooler. I'm surprised we didn't get it in on the flop. I thought it was possible villain was trying to trap a flush on turn and then over-played it on river. Maybe even Q9. Ahead of everything except for QQ/99 and of course villain showed up with it.

Well, Iv played 1700 hands today, started off very badly and its been a grind back ever since, lost another KK vs AA early on, as soon as I started to hack into my losses I became card dead. Took a break at about 11pm UK time, its now 2am and took me only 30 minutes to get a buy in back, that was with some bad beats as well. There are tons more fish about at this time of night.

I will post my fav hand of the night.

Wow - raising from the SB with 43s...is that standard?

Am having a decent run, although even at my low stakes it seems like people are really tight. Maybe I'm just running into a bunch of regs....but how many regs play $0.01/0.02??

Favorite hand today was one I wasn't in: two guys get all-in on the flop, one turns over AKs other turns over KK. KK flops a set on the flop, the turn gives AKs the flush, and the river gives KK the full house. The whole table went crazy. OK, so at our stakes it wasn't like the final table of the WSOP, but still.

omg, just had the most tilting session i've had in a while. I had to quit as I felt well and truly fed up. It first started when I mis-read that I had 2nd nuts, then I nut blocker bluffed and got snapped off. Then I just started playing pretty bad, everyone was calling my bluffs with non nut hands, I started running bad and not making hands in other spots. I tilt quit after 1400 hands down 10 buy-ins, so there goes my stellar bonus . My worst session in a while Just some of my tilty hands, I guess i'm back on the grind later and hopefully feeling less tilted.

A monster flop for me, I completely forgot about QJ the way the turn was played.

If folded around to the SB, why not stab at the BB? You'll obv have to look up your opponents, but I'd normally raise with any two if the player tends to fold vs a steal.

Yeah I'm a bit disappointed at how tight many people play, even at the micros :/

I had another bad session. Seemed to run bad in some big pots and got into a few bad spots playing some marginal hands. Poker's not so fun today and i'm feeling a bit sick of it. I was down a lot more in the session but finished down a buy-in. It feels like a small victory. I hope the next few thousand hands are more profitable than these even though I did run pretty hot (but not comparable to how bad it's been) for about 8k hands.

This is how I started off my session, I thought it was going to be a good session

vs most I would bet turn, but he was super tight so when he called I put him on a 7x/66 or some kind of overpair.

Hes going to fold 88-TT on the turn, but probably raise 66/7x and I have to fold, also if he checks behind I know he has a middle pair that I can blow him off on most rivers (or 66, in which case im in trouble if I hit river).

Once he bets turn, I think he has 7x only because he more than likely checks back 66. So im happy with turn play, but would like to see what you think given the fact I said hes tight his range is so narrow.

River, for what its worth if my flush hits I bet this river myself because he may check back a 7 here but I hit my straight and the flush missed so hes going to be really happy with his 7 and he will bet and I can shove over the top. If I bet he will just call.

if he's "so tight" then he doesn't have much 7x in his range anyway. 76s flopped a full house, so 87s + A7s (say 50% of the time he flats A7s pre) is 3 combos that you're ahead of.

betting river targets value from the middle of his calling range, with which he may be inclined to check back river if he is weak/passive: Kx, 6x, 88-JJ.

while i do agree that he will often check turn with <Kx he won't always, fish do weird things, whereas 7x is always a tiny part of his range if he is tight pre

    This.

BB and SB fold to steal should be mandatory on your HUD. One should develop a sick sadistic pleasure from relentlessly beating foldy blinds into a pulp.

As Bryce Paradis said in a LHE vid concerning blind stealing:
"Steal often, it's good for you".

Okay, point taken about the river and getting value from his calling range if he does infact have a one pair type hand.

But why are we betting turn vs this player, is it just to fold out 88,99 etc?

Made back about 6 buy-ins. I played a bit more conservatively and didn't run so many bluffs. I played a bit nitty at times but it seemed to work out. Still down over 5 buy-ins but that's something I can recover over the next day or so hopefully. I played 4200 hands today, it's been a while since I put in that volume. I'll try keep the # of hands I post down, they all seem interesting to me but i'm sure no-one's really interested. Here's my 2 biggest pots of the session.

I decided to limp in as I hate playing these sorts of hands OOP. The flopped seemed fairly good, I wasn't thrilled to be calling but felt I had some decent equity and BTN improved my odds. As I turned a flush draw I checked as I wasn't in love with my hand. But when villain bet pot and BTN came along it became obvious that i'm not really folding and I didn't want a river decision so I got it in. I really thought i'd lost on the river but fortunately they had what i'd hoped for.

Took a one-day break, start the session with some nice hands and make some decent profit. Then this hand happens. I've noted that villain has taken some fishy lines in the 6 hands I have on him, for example he 3betted my 3.5bb raise to 20bb... and he had a 60bb stack.

It's such a grind lately, I played 1400 hands and started off going down a bit getting it in with top set vs a million card straight draw and lost that. Then I was down for about half the session before I managed to get up 2 buy-ins, then lost those. Made it back and was about to quit when I won another buy-in. So back on the road to recovery.

I'm kind of surprised we didn't get it in on the flop. I wasn't going anywhere with overpair + gutsthot + NFD. I got in pretty bad shape on the turn with 27.5% equity.

Recovery complete + up a few $ too. Just made over 3 buy-ins in the session. Admittedly I tilted a little in one or two spots. But it wasn't that bad as I shoved in bottom set vs a draw and lost.

The hand that put me on mild tilt. Villain had been doing a lot of 3betting and seemed pretty aggro. Sick flop

    Call or raise flop?

    My thought:
    Spoiler:
I don't think he flats with JJ, unless he shows up with QJ I've got the nuts. If I'm up against a weaker queen then he'll call a raise on a later street, and he's short enough that I can get it in on the river without raising here. If I'm up against KJ+ or a pocket I think I can milk more value with a call here, a raise would probably get him to fold.

edit: while typing this up, got paid off for stacks twice with AA. 2p2 mojo at work?

Totally agree. You are only worried about specifically QJ or JJ. QJ and JJ do not go away if you raise, every hand you beat does. If you call you have a good chance of getting at least 1 more bet in from a weaker hand and start getting vil into pot commitment territory.
