Ndoggy, I would step up to 5nl and try your hand there, maybe take a few shots at 10NL if you feel comfortable, I've always been told it's not smart to skip a level.

jesus christ.. I seriously can not beat 10nl... less than 1000 hands and I'm down almost 5 buyins. KK into AA twice... Nut flush runs into a boat.. AA cracked by J7s.. and AA cracked by AJo.

I think its time to drop down to 2nl for a bit more, cuz my confidence is pretty much shattered at 10nl. Everytime I'm reraised with the 2nd nut on any street... I'm pretty much ready to lay it down, scared that they have the nuts...... and it seems like they almost always end up with the nuts.

Bad run, try 5nl

Final weekend tally.. -$120 -$40 yesterday -$80 today -any confidence I have in my poker game

Current roll... $188 and confidence-less....sweeeet

What are your stats?

I started playing poker again after nearly a 2 year hiatus, and came back to these forums since I remember them being very good for my game when I last played, and just happened upon this thread, and it inspired me to play NL cash with good bankroll management (I initially planned to save 1000 bucks and build using sngs).

So I deposited 50 bucks on stars friday, and within the first 3 hours of playing, I was down to 35 bucks playing the 2NL tables (playing with 5 bucks at a table), so I corrected a few leaks, and decided to play there with 2 bucks per table, and I am happy to say that since then, I have gotten my roll up to 68.50.

I was planning on keeping strict bankroll requirements, and not move up to the next level until I have 20 BI's for it, but I decided since 2NL is so easy, that I will take a shot once I hit 15 BI's for 5NL, moving down if I lose 2 BI's, and staying there if I stay in the green.

I realized fast that I had alot of rust from my 2 years off from poker (and never really kept bankroll requirements then, which hurt sometimes), but I am hoping that by starting at the lowest stakes and moving up with my bankroll that I will hopefully do better than before.

But anyways, big thanks to yall for motivating me to start playing cash and build my roll responsibly, instead of like before where I would sometimes sit down with half of my roll at a table and try to chase my losses. Its tough, since sometimes I am tempted at this level to call off pots that I am surely behind since "it's less than a gallon of gas", but I have been keeping to the plan, and will hopefully keep moving up thru the limits.

Lol with that logic, pretty soon ppl at 10nl will be able to stack off, since its less than a gallon of gas. gl to you, and I hope you have the same success many others have had.

sitting at $500 right now after a good day, up $38

first I played a 3 $6.50 and 1 $12 session...finally made the decision that I either need to do one or the other as I'm getting way too involved at the $12 table, and get very upset when I get sucked out on :/ (QQ<AQ on the bubble..ace on the river)

Anyways, I hardly get mad anymore when I get sucked out on at the $6.50's, but because I feel compelled to cash in the $12, and it hurts when I don't.

Long story short, 2nd session was 4 $12 and I got 3rd in 2 and won one. I will definitely be doing all $12 now as they aren't any different really from the $6.50 ones and I have the roll to do it

Also, is there a list somewhere of how much/1 you need to call with certain draws?

Like I had pocket 4's with a flop of 5 6 7. I caught the straight on the turn, but not sure if I got the right odds to call. I know the theory behind odds is that you win once/5 times then you need 5/1 on your money to call, but I don't know what I need :P.

edit - weeeee my sharkscope graph haha (I need to play more D unsustainable win-rate ftw

make that another -38 since earlier.. with one tournament left... flopped flush into flop flush.. QQ < AQ.. AK into AA.. straight into full house

stealing blinds is the biggest waste of my time. 4 times this weekend I've shoved in blind vs blinds situations during the middle stages of a tournament and run into a hand... ugh

If you're not getting a hand, sometimes you have to punish your partner.

Yesterday was a good day. This hand cracked me up.
The lad had been donating chips to whoever was in a hand with him, and it was fairly clear he was on a bluff. So I wanted to rebluff, so to say, but first I had to knock out the players between me and him. But every once in a while, a bluff becomes a value bet.

I've seen a lot more play like this on the stars NL2 tables, and it makes me drool. You'll make money on some, but there are a few tight, observant players that will catch on and stack you. Check the stats of who's playing into you.

This past weekend, I found lots of action similar to what you're describing, and I made a note of the play, patiently waited on a hand, then took large chunks out. Started at about $40 on Friday, up to $75 now, mostly 2 tabling NL2.

Just wanted to update my progress.

I busted my Pokerstars roll, but was saved by being given a free $50 on absolute poker (through one of those 3rd party sites) This was credited to my account on 1st June. On the 10th of June I withdrew $1000.

Unfortunately I left $60 in the account, and busted it yesterday. So, today I'm re-depositing $30 on pokerstars, and going to try again there. I built my absolute roll up through aggressive Omaha HL play, but I really want it work long term at stars, so it'll progressive learning andlow buy-in games til I'm at least at $100.

I'm also currently building a bankroll from nothing. I hadn't played much on pokerstars because I preferred full tilt's software, but I noticed I had 300 fpp in my account for some reason. Played a 40+R fpp sat and turned it into 4000 fpp. Used that to play some sats and unregister for the tournament spots I won and use the T$ for SnG's. Have currently run it up to about $85 in a week of play.
