Gina,

When you started, what did you buy in for at 2NL? How many tables did you play?
05-03-2008 , 07:47 PM

after 13 hours i'm down 2$ and exhausted.
but i need serious help. 2NL is too good for me.
05-03-2008 , 08:15 PM
Day 1, I put 1 dollar each on 14 tables
Day 2, 2 dollars each on about 10
Day 3 (today) 3 dollars each on about 8

They kicked some bathrobes in for tourney prizes for a small forum back then and I got one (for PLO) and it felt like I imagine a WSOP bracelet would feel (but scaled down a little) It's where I learnt to play poker.
And it still has some terrible players. Definitely worse than Stars
Warming up, $47.70 in account now

GL all.
LOL you'll be at 2k in a week sput.

I want to go from 100 to 1000

How im gonna do it?
dont really know

i only play cashgames. Im not a tournament player
i dont go into big pots without having the nuts
i dont go into a cashgame where i have to risk a big amount of my bankroll
i play good cards and doing nothing really that tricky (i figured out that on the internet people come and go so you dont really have to mix up your game that much, enough players will pay you)
i want to win 10$ a day, most of the times i win more, but 10$ is my minimum

Is this a good way?
or are there more things that i should keep in mind?

Go Gina, Sputum & all!!!
I'd have enjoyed your party, but have a fulltime job and can't put many hands at work.
Pls post some of the funniest hands you play there.
Bests!

Q: where will you be in 30K hands?

It sounds like you'd make a good 2 or 5nL full ring player. Play lots of tables, fold often, get paid when you have the nuts.

yep, thats where im playing at the moment
i could handle the higher tables, but my bankroll cant handle it
i have to be at least at 1000 to hit the medium stakes

I'm gonna join you guys. I've ran $50 to $400 or more a couple of times, the last time I did it I almost went busto. I'm more of a tournament player but I like to play cash too. At the moment I have ~$22 on my stars account and I'll be 2-tabling 2NL. I have a job so I can't really put in a lot of hands but I'll do my best and try to play like 5k hand or more every month.

what i wanted to show: you can own people at this level and still lose. there is absolutely no way that you can make money here without a run of cards. if you don't get it you can only break even.

i lost a couple of flips and had a few suckouts and am now down to 25$ again. i can't stand it anymore.
05-04-2008 , 02:17 PM
Hang in there bigdonk. It can be done.

Yesterday i won 20, then lost 10 back. The thing i've noticed is that when I lost, I was expecting my opponents to show up with reasonable hands. They dont. But I got tired, and instead of giving them a whle 52 card range (like i should, haha) I was thinking-oh hell no they wouldn't play 72o in a three bet pot oop.

It's frustrating, I know. I hate when hands go to the river and I have less than top two. But if you stick to playing uber-tight, you can do it

I started at the beginning of the year with $50 and now have about $460 and can take some shots at 25nl.

Nutpeddling is def. the way to go at those limits, and it still seems to be working for me. As other people have said it was a long and horrible grind to get to 10NL but once I hit that point things have been progressing nicely since I only play 1 table at a time right now and probably play less hands in a month then most people here do in a day.

It can be frustrating but if you are a beginning player an exercise like this will help you determine if you have what it takes to be a solid player (br management, infinite patience, disassociation from $$, uber nit hand selection etc.)
05-04-2008 , 04:17 PM
Bad stretch yesterday, was down to $90 at one point, so I went back to .02/.05 and its at $100 right now. I'm 6-tabling right now, buying in for $5 at a time.

The grind is always tough, I was 6-tabling NL10 with shots at NL25 normally about a year ago, until I had to withdraw it all. I've been working this up straight from freerolls, and the grind is certainly getting to me.

(I also really need to purchase PT soon, that would help so much)
05-04-2008 , 04:19 PM
I did the same with $25 two days ago and im at $450 now. Running good I guess

Good luck!

Further analysis required imo.

Good luck! You guys make this sound like such fun I'm almost tempted to join in, but exams are nearly over now, time to make some proper money

QFT.

That's exactly how I started up my new BR. Before I knew it, I was at $500+
FWIW Gina, your older thread was pretty inspring. Best of luck.

no. i'm changing every 20 hands. you mist a digit. shortstacking: move in with if you are ahead. get sucked out or double up. bigstack play doesn't really work for me at this level. the big stack makes opponents fear and i want to get called... i think... but when i look at my results:
seriosly. in NEVER won with KK all in preflop. the villain always gets the ace. thats why after 2 days and 25 hours of poker the balance looks like this:

+i won a 5$ HU-SnG

what a waste of time.

had a shot at 25NL. i wish the idiot didn't hit his two outer and told me what he is going to do with my mother blablabla. i think only the scum of humanity plays poker...

current BR after the weekend: 26$ -> 36$

i think i'll abandon some BR-rules. 10NL is far more profitble for me. so: i'll 1 table 10NL if i hit 60$ and go down to 2NL if i'm under 50.

tomorrow it's back to real life for me. only 5 hours of poker per day

I haven't played 2NL in like... well, a very long time, but this doesn't seem like the definition of 'extracting max value', normally. I'm glad you were up against KK and QQ, that certainly helped, but shoving $6 into a 30cent pot struck me as somewhat of an overbet.

Was there a lot of this going on at the table? Did you know you'd get called?
