Being 4 bet pre, holding AK... Being 4 bet pre, holding AK...

Another difficult hand for me. The path I took is never going to pay unless I hit the flop. So, do I stack off or fold pre - or take some other path? Less than 20 hands on the villain but he was roughly 14/14.

PokerStars - $0.02 NL (9 max) - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

CO: $1.81
BTN: $2.00
SB: $2.00
Hero (BB): $5.23
UTG: $1.00
UTG+1: $3.00
MP: $0.83
MP+1: $0.77

SB posts SB $0.01, Hero posts BB $0.02

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has K A

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $0.08, fold, Hero raises to $0.24, BTN raises to $0.60, Hero calls $0.36

Flop: ($1.21, 2 players) Q T 8
Hero checks, BTN bets $0.87, fold

BTN wins $1.17

I don't play cash normally, but I would personally Cbet to prevent that situation.

don't flat to his 4-bet. Fold or shove.

At 2NL nobody is trying to be tricky so its most likely a fold here.

Unknown or reg at FR, I fold. If you don't want to fold, ship.

4bet or fold. 14/14 is pretty nitty. I'd fold. You can't flat the 4bet and fold the flip, it's really bad. Think of it like this. If you held 77 raised utg and the button 3bets, you would fold right? Well you don't even have a pair.

I'm probably never folding AK here against an unknown either. Although it's been a while since I've played nl2 at Stars, I don't think folding to his 4bet can be right, unless an average unknown player at nl2 4bets only monsters in a blind steal situation.

i think if you are gonna play the hand you should shove over his 4-bet as played i would fold flop. versus an unknown

Deep-stacked, a 4-bet by a reg at 2NL on Stars (even on the button vs BB) is almost always AK, KK or AA.
I'll happily get AK all in against a shortstack, as they show up with 77+ and ATs, AJ+, but deep-stacked regs are really nitty when it comes to 4-betting.

This. At very best you are up against QQ, I doubt any NL2 players 4bet bluff BTN vs BB as even a 3b at NL2 normally means TT+/AK/AQ.

Deep stack? all I see is a normal 100bb stack.

As villain is unkown:

Fold pre > 5bet-shove pre >>>> call pre

Calling 4 bets and then folding is the same as lighting your cigarettes with $20 bills.
