ok, this is pretty basic. i play on a couple of lesser sites and never got rakeback.

is rakeback generally based on hands you sat in or hands you made it to flop (or some other active qualifying criteria)??

thanks in advance!

Generally, rakeback is a discount on the rake you pay. So it's x% of the total rake you have paid.

When you don't see a flop, you don't pay rake, so no rakeback there.

It's different for bonuses though.

Rakeback is usually a percentage of your MGR. MGR is your share of all rake paid by the table. That is, the amount of rake take divided by the number of players in the hand. Doesn't matter if you see a flop as long as you are dealt into the hand.

For bonuses, some sites use contributed (only hands where you contributed to the pot) some use dealt (all hands as long as you were dealt cards). Depends on the site.

(uralldiseased's post is wrong for every site I'm aware of).

Well, CMAR made me feel stupid. My statement that when you don't see a flop, you don't pay rake is obviously wrong. What I should have written is when a pot is decided before the flop there's mostly no rake so no rakeback either. My apologies.

Also didn't know that rakeback is calculated on MGR (my MGR is however very very close to my total rake). Is the same true for ipoker's cashback?
