1/2 nl cash game. You are about evenly stacked vs Villain.
Should you ever call a 5 or 6x raise when out of postion vs 1 guy/gal pre flop with KOo or KJo.
I ask this question because i have often heard this range of hands called the trouble hands. I would probably call this if it is folded to the button because his range should be wide but other than that ?????
After pre flop you are out of position the rest of the way.
Thanks

It depends on opponent of course.

KQo and KJo OOP...I can find a fold without too much trouble against a better player

Depends on:
- what are the stack sizes, evenly stacked at 20BB and 200BB makes a difference
- skill level of opponent
- your position, there’s a difference between SB and BB
- villains position, he’s probably not opening the same range from UTG and BU

KQo is a really crappy hand against an 8% UTG open range and a really good hand against a 80% BU open range.

Well, for one, an opening raise to $10-16 is 'standard' where I play ... and certainly becomes standard once I'm there for a few downs if it's not already!!

In 1/2 I key in on 'What do I need (and how hard is it to get) out of this holding to get paid?' and 'Will this opponent pay me off if I achieve my improved holding?' The two have to work hand in hand. (And then I also look at what Boards can I steal from as well.)

KQ/KJ are hard to fold on K64 Flops ... and then you c/c 3 streets to AK .. ouch ..
But do you get paid 'any more' on KQ44x the next time?

See I'm OK with losing to AK once in a while if I can reap the rewards in greater fashion later. But if this is an opponent that wont pay me off if I c/r Hand #2 then I just avoid them with the KQ/KJ type of hands and stick to pp/middle connected hands that 'will' get me paid in Hand #1 and then I can just 'never' be involved in a Hand #2. One, it's hard to Flop two pair ... and two, he doesn't pay me. Seems like a risky long-shot cause.

That is the fun of 1/2 NL. I've folded AJs face up to a Player only to show up with 46/55/67 in a later hand against his neighbor for stacks. I don't mind letting the Nits know they aren't getting many of my chips ... and it's free advertising to the rest of the table. GL
