I guess if you are just taking shots and playing recreationally it isn't a big deal. If you are trying to move up in stakes without investing more of your money it is a big deal.
hey there guys....im 26 years old and when i first started playing poker which was when i was 18 i started dealing at a poker club around where i live and was making 1500 a week!!! at that time when i was making that much money being so young i would blow through it as if it was nothing and always play whatever limits and games that were available, whether it was 1/2 2/5 5/5 or 5/10 i wouldn't mind sitting down and i wouldn't care if i lost cause i always figured i would work it back up the following week. but as i look back now and if i played back then with a little BRM like either 10% or 5% or my roll i would have saved a lot of money. Well i make good money during my day job and i play poker everyday live still and play online poker during the weekends whenever i have a chance, but i always play with 5% of my roll and it never seems to bother my bankroll whenever i have a losing session.
brm is what you make of it, and you how make it work for you.
i currently have ~$300 with which i exclusively play poker with. i do not add to it with additional income, i do not take from it at present, as i want to move up.
could i live with total br oblivion? sure. i have a well paid job. do i want to keep adding to my br? no sir.
without brm you will take short term shots, you cannot progress and sustain a poker 'career'.
if your a newbie, and horrible at poker, BR won't matter it could be as huge as the ocean if your alosing player your gona end up losing it anyway you play it.
