Hi, iv been playing 9 max NLHE cash game poker for a couple of years now on and off. I have come to the realization that there is no easy money in this game (specially with 100nl rake)

I wasn't happy with the time i was spending at the micro limits. (2nl,5nl,10nl and 25nl)

In order to build my roll i grinded hardcore in 2nl and 5nl i mean really put in the hours (60+). Then i looked at my BR and it double to $200, i was preparing myself for 10nl again.

Suddenly before all my hardwork was complete i went on a downswing. I was back down below $150. (my 5nl this is safe roll) I started looking for soft games at the micros, and realised 50/50 $3.50 BI was quite easy to beat.

Shorts after i was more and more fustrated at my slight winnings (around $10) after playing around 20 games.

I knew i missed the boat back in 2003, i missed it gone... Games would never be so easy, i knew if i started back then i would be at small stakes at least.

So then i though "iv spend some time on Limit"

Infact i actually was taught by 2 coachs and they did warn me about the ridiculas varience and rake at 100nl. I though it was my time to get lucky, you know runner runner flush hitting sets over set etc.

I wanted a Joe Hachem "ONE TIME"

It didnt work out.

Anyways after this i have learned not to be a monkey tilt machine. It doesnt matter how long you play how good you are, if your tilt monkey, if you get discouraged. If you dont believe you have put in the correct volume. Its all over baby.

I have been an observer of 2plus2 for the past couple of years. I never put anything into this community, but i think my lesson can be learnt by others.

Always... always... ALWAYS believe in yourself. Put the time, put the effort in. If you do not tilt, or control it rapidly this game is yours. An average player who doesn't tilt will win at this game. A great player however who is a tilt machine will lose a lot of money before you find out how this works.

Anyways i feel like a rambled a lot of fustration into this post. I just wanna say im gonna get a JOB, im gonna come back and i hope to see this great forum still thriving.

Thanks a lot 2plus2

well you can learn just by reading/observing but you'd be a better player if you actually got involved. posting >>>> lurking. there's nothing like getting your ass kicked in a thread because you played it like a donk to really cement a concept or plug a leak.

anyway goodluck

Grind it back up and correct the mistakes you made at 100nl. All the best success stories start out as failures. If we didnt fail, it wouldnt feel so good to succeed. Good luck, man.
