Some days when you play poker it just feels that whatever you do you'll inevitably lose. Today was one of those days.
Getting it in good as a huge favourite just wasn't enough.
I started off the session flopping big draws and missing and getting coolered. This then put me on tilt and I donked off a few buy ins in some semi-ok spots. I got my **** together and went on a small upswing, before the inevitable. I had KK on a Kxx flop, get it all in vs AAxx with no flush draw or possible way to improve. Other than the A on the river which came! I lost a big pot to a fish (it's below) which put me back nicely down on the session. I did win a little back but today's looking like one of those losing days.
I'm getting a bit fed up with ipoker. I'm just getting beat up and coolered to hell. I'm sure in the long run it'll hopefully start to even out, but I need to spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to get in any volume as the site sucks. The only redeeming feature is the rakeback I receive and i'm not sure if I can turn my back on that.....I've just been playing for the last 4hrs or so non-stop and expect to get a big payment on monday.
Managing to get myself into trouble in a 4bet pot. I flopped the nuts and got it in vs a flush draw. It hit on the turn obv
More annoying stuff....I flop top 2 with a J high flush draw. I raise on the flop to try get it in. I put them all in on turn and they can't fold and obv hit on me.
ARGH!! This really pissed me off. I'd doubled up through villain a few times but I decided to stay at the table because they were playing like a complete fish even though I hate sitting deep. Getting it in pre-flop with awful hands and just shoving some really awful spots. So I decided to play a bit of a wider range and try hit vs this villain. I hit an amazing flop and was getting ready to check-raise villain but he checked behind. So I took the lead on the turn with top 2 + nut flush draw. Villain raised and I fired pot back at him (note that i'm 80% on turn). River came, it completed a straight but I decided to shove it. Villain just snapped me off to show the set - putting me back into a fat loss on the session
This was one of the strangest hands i've seen. Same table as the fish, I was playing a wider range of hands. I flopped trips and decided to just call. Raising would be kinda bad given how hard it is for me to improve. The turn reduced chances of AT and so I decided to fire. I was really surprised to see the SB call. At that point I was thinking SB might have had quads and just slow playing. The river gave me 2nd nuts and I was surprised to see villain shove. Surely it's only AK and TT which shove this river?!? & it certainly didn't play out like an AK. I couldn't believe they did this with a straight and were trying to draw to it on a double paired board.
