Is it dumb or okay to hit the pot button for 3bet bet-sizing preflop? (assuming 6max cash game, both 100BB deep)

Why would it be dumb? The purpose of 3-4-5 betting is to get the other person to fold without playing the hand. Your aggressiveness of hitting "pot" will either have your opponent call or fold. Same as any other PF bet.

I know its good to 3bet pf, but was just asking specifically about the amount to raise.

3x raise in position, and a little more oop. raising pot isn't terrible though, especially if the person doesn't fold to 3bets and you have a big hand.

if you are deep you need to make it bigger but 100bb deep its fine to just pot it

I usually just tack on like 10bb's over the top of the opening raise. I don't like 3x'ing even in position with 100bb stacks because when I have aces or kings and their underpair flops a set it's just like "they had odds", I like to cut their set-mining odds as much as possible. I find myself adding a little more if there is a raise and a caller or two infront of me, especially out of position.

I usually prefer a bit more than pot when there is only one villain in the hand, especially if you are in the blinds. 3x or a little bit more is good. Hitting pot in the blinds reduces your fold equity a lot. Of course you can use that for your advantage.

Do you realise that making a potsized 3bet is 3,5x?
