Hi guys,

first post here.

Beginner player at 2NL Zoom Pokerstars,I've just played almost my first 50k hands. I am at -30BI.....Not what I s expected and the bad thing is that I cant fathom what i'm doing wrong. Obviously i have leaks but I think i'm not running well also. I've tried many things during this first samplelaying TAG, playing nitty, playing bit loose, opening 2x, opening 2.5x, opening 3x, playing only 3bet or fold pre, playing with some cold calling pre, playing fit-or-fold post, playing more tricky game, etc....

I think I struggle a bit on 3bet po and in my postflop game.

This is my stats and graph:

-Hands played:48581
-VPIP/PFR/3bet/fold to 3bet:20/15/6/74
-Steal:34
-Squeeze:4.3
-Went to Showdown/Won at Showdown/Won When Saw Flop:26/60/40

Some thoughts please?

The stats you shared indicate you're quite nitty. Low vpip, low pfr, low 3bet, low steal, low squeeze. Your redline indicates you also are probably on the nitty side postflop as well, which might be missing good calldown spots or bluff opportunities.

I also notice that you're playing almost 800 hands/hr, which would be...3 or 4 tabling zoom, if accurate? As a beginner, definitely cut down to 1 or at most 2 tables and focus more on each hand that you play. Rather than trying to get cute and "switch around your style," try to learn solid fundamentals and think more about the ranges in every hand. Spamming hands on too many tables and constantly making big changes to your strategy isn't the way towards learning or success.

Yes, 3 tables.

Thank you for the reply my friend.

Post your stats by position. I expect much of your problem will be there.

These are extremely tight stats. You should probably start by studying some preflop ranges. You massively overfold to 3bet (slight overfold is likely good, but this is way too far), you seem very nitty out of the bb, 3b freqs are too low across the board, and you open way too tight from co-sb. These are large fundamental errors. Playing relatively snug is not a bad idea for newer players, but you have to be more willing to get in the mix, particularly from later positions (winning blinds is very important, and you have to rfi to do that) and with blind defense, where you're getting very good pot odds on a continue.

It's also telling that you open too tight and are still way overfolding to 3bets. I'd bet your tight-passive tendencies likely carry into your postflop play as well, though it's impossible to tell for sure.
