3 bet pre. You are out of position and want to take control of the hand, plus, you can get more info on his hand if he flats, or 4 bets. Obviously you are leading the flop after you 3 bet. I am probably leading the turn to even if he calls, because we cant always be scared just because a scared card comes and many competent players will float a board like this to take it away on the turn.

Thanks Arty. I take it you would check that flop having 3 bet pre so. Seems like a needlessly weak line with an overpair.

Cheers for the replies I don't play these stakes at all but I had a decent tourney cash so I took a few shots over the last few weeks. Now its back ever enthralling world of micro stakes sit n gos

No, he is saying you should have 3bet and being the aggressor preflop you can bet the flop. As played you called preflop, in that case check-call flop instead of lead (donkbet).

Actually I don't know if he means to bet flop when having 3bet, against some opponents it can actually be hugely profitable to check there when you've 3bet but as a default I'd bet here.

If you 3-bet, betting or checking should both be fine, but betting would be standard, to get value from TT, worse pocket pairs and maybe AK/AQ, setting up a stack-commiting bet on safe turn cards. When you just call pre, checking is almost certainly better, because villain has so much more air in his range, and the way you get value is to let villain make the mistake of betting it. By donking out, you allow villain to fold all his air, and raise his better hands and draws, which puts you in a really bad spot with JJ, as the SPR isn't low enough for you to commit.
