2 years to get good? 2 years to get good?

I'm going to spend 2 years to get good at cash game poker. I will spend 12 hours a day playing online 1 tabling. I'm going to put $40 a week towards poker each week and I will start with a $100 bankroll. I'm aim to have a $6000 bankroll in two years time to play 2/3 live then.

Would playing and doing no study make you a winner? I've played a fair amount of mtts. Putting in 8000 hours in the next 2 years should make me a good player.

Doing that would make you hate your life and hate poker and not want to play another hand ever again

Play as much as you want without setting an exact number. Study as well to improve your A and C game.

Hours does not equal good. Quality rather than quantity.

Setting goals is a great idea but playing 12 hours a day and 1 tabling is going to be torturous after a while. It would be better to play a little less to avoid burn-out, use some of the additional time to study different ideas (properly). Don't move to a new area of study until you've fully grasped one.

Also, try to find the right number of tables for you. This means finding the one that helps you generate the best win-rate, even if you suffer a little edge by adding a 2nd table.

There are posters here who really will try to offer assistance .. and plenty of threads to look through as well if you search for key words.

I'm not trying to change your mind, just offering what I've seen here before .. there are a few 'holes' in your 'general' OP here.
1) No one can really determine how long it will take to 'get good'. 2 years is a really long time in poker, but it's OK to set a hard stop of sorts if you want. It's more important to 'feel' the improvement from session to session.

2) Where is the $40 coming from if you're going to play such extended sessions? Do you receive a stipend of sorts or have other income? $40 a week is $4000 over 2 years, so if you are a break even Player your bankroll will show a false improvement of sorts.

3) Playing only 1 table online will be difficult .. even for a live cash guy like me and being a former online guy of sorts. I think you'll find that you can easily handle 3-4 tables.

4) While playing has a (hopefully) natural learning curve you really should set some time aside to look at specific hands where you surprised at the opponents holding, frustratingly folded or thought you should've gotten more value. It's possible that you could look some things over at the same time you are playing one table as well.

5) Firing back sarcastic remarks after just one post will not gain you many more future posts. There's some talent here .. but they do have a tendency to back off in a hurry if you don't act receptive to their comments. GL
