That's my roll on Stars and I'm wondering what's the best way to grow it?

A. $0.01/$0.02 6 Max NLHE

B. $0.02/$0.04 FRHE

I feel that B. would be the best option as it could be the safest way to do it but any thoughts/advice are greatly appreciated.

Best way to improve as a player, got any links or suggestions?

Play whichever you enjoy more. However, keep in mind that you're pretty short rolled for 2NL and there's a decent chance you'll go busto. But it's ten bucks so unless it's your allowance money no big deal...

You probably pay like $80/mo for internet ask yourself is it really worth your time to grind 2NL?

Actually for the time being yes it's worth it(I'm on a short-term disability leave from work) and with that roll being so small, I feel with some dedication and hard work I might be able to turn a few bucks into something.

I think the plan is going to be Limit Hold 'em.

Play NL 1/2c. At NL2, if your even a slightly decent player, you wont be going bust with 5 buyins. Plus 2/4 limit will be excruciating to grind....

Some people actually use the internet for things other than poker. Can you believe that?

If you do play NL, don't buy in for $5, obviously. You'll need to buy in for $1 (50bb) and play for big pairs (tight). That's going to be pretty swingy because 2nl is very loose, and you'll be up against draws like always. remember: do not bluff, ever.

I'm curious what the experts say about .02/.04 limit. that's another high-variance game.

Aren't there $0.10-entry sng's? I think that's where you belong until you have a little more cushion. Really would be much better to mine the couch for spare change and deposit it. If you're willing to deposit, just do it. If not, $12 is not enough for 2nl, imo.

$0.10 MTTs is what you're thinking of. (stars)

UB has $0.50 SnGs to my knowledge. Not Stars though.

But don't play at ub.

I think that playing NL2 6max is the best option. 20ptbb/100 is easily achievable there.
As soon as you hit something like 50-75, you can go to NL5 full ring, 10 buyins is enough to play NL5 full ring, I think.

I started also with 10$, grinded NL2 for 1000 hands or so, then NL5 until I got 200$, and went to NL10. Been there a while, sometimes I take shots at NL25 with some success.
But I am still at NL10 because I keep making withdrawals, I need money... I don't feel like getting a summer job ( i am a college student) because I can make minimal wage playing NL10, couple of hours a day, lol.

So far I have made my 10$ into 1100$. Hope that inspires you, good luck!

Woohoo I love short bankrolls it makes you play better lol.

Play the .01/.02 till you reach 15.00 then play the .02/.05 because the BI is the same buy in for 3.00 at both limits and just play straight ABC poker you can't afford to try and be cute and pulls moves. This works for a fact if you can play any kinda poker you will get pumped back up.

I am in the process of doing the same thing. Started with nothing 2.5 weeks ago, and have been playing the 6 max tables of limit holdem. Cruised through the .02/.04, and am now up to .05/.10 with a roll in the mid $40s. I am blogging it as well.

Play the .01/.02 and buy in for 3 and play till you get $15. then play the same limits but play 2 tables keeping the 3 dollar buy in.

Gina also had a good post where she said she would buy in for 2.00 and as soon as she doubled it she would leave go to another table and do it again not sure where that post is though.

LOL. That's how I started playing poker. "Short-term disability". Five years and a gazillion operations later it's "Full-time disabled". I'm VERY glad I learned to play. Without poker I'd have been living in a van down by the river long ago. Instead, I'm shopping around for houses, no mortgage TYVM.

Good luck to you. With a bit of determination and a LOT of study, you should be able to make a go of it. If you happen to go busto, and can't replenish your roll, freerolls are a good way to start out. My bankroll was literally zero when I started. After I banked a bit from freerolls, I switched to the lowest limit LHE I could find until I was rolled for uNL.

Never looked back.

Edit: You were asking about resources to learn from?

You're here. 2p2 is by far the greatest learning tool there is, if you have the patience to sift around and find the gold. Good luck!
