Garbage Discard everything
You may be right, but strategy is strategy and you should know it pretty cold before you sit down at a machine.

I would prefer working on a garbage truck as a volunteer to playing vp at 500 hph for such trivial ev.

Hello
played on black friday and cber monday for the 7x CB reward

99.91% joker wild two pair, $1 coin $5 per hand. two session total play 5K hand.
down 100$
25K coin-in, $175 CB

went up 1 level in the player club but it does not mean anything (the poker room comp food by looking at your face, not by checking your points)

and btw, I was down two buyin in the 500nlh and win it all back haha (feel like genius even tho i m not)

for some reason there are always staff member/floor member standing behind those full pay machines, Dont wanna take photos and get in trouble.

I doubt it but are there any sites where u can get 100+% return on online vp? I wou]ld so play if there was. Im guessing maybe only iwth intro promotions but once it runs out u lose the cashback/promo and thats it.

Unfortunately almost all of the Casino's near me have really poor pay tables. I ended up checking out the government online poker room / casino site and noticed they have most of the games at perfect pay tables, instead of grinding MTT's I've caught the VP bug

I will post some of my run good in a bit, just at work right now but whoa... Video Poker is one hellavu ride, streaky stuff.

This happened a couple of weeks ago. I was playing just to get points on this machine originally playing bonus. I was only a few hundred dollars play through the machine away from the goal so switched to Triple Double Bonus.

I was dealt: 3 3 3 2 Q. I held the 3 3 3 2 for the kicker big win. I figured I would draw 2 or 3, maybe 4 at most fourth 3's but ended up drawing......

Seems like that was a horrible play but I don't play that game. Wouldn't it have been better to have that extra card to get more quads with still the chance to get kickers?

Triple Double Bonus is a very different game from Double Double Bonus (most popular).

It pays only 10 rather than 15 in most other games. This hit in the pay is because of the higher 4 of a kinds with kicker...

AAAA2 pays 4000 / Double Double Bonus pays 2000
2222A pays 2000 / Double Double Bonus pays 800
AAAAX pays 800 / Double Double Bonus pays 800
2222X pays 400 / Double Double Bonus pays 400

"Correct Strategy" as I understand it for this game says to go for the bigger win. If dealt AAA2X you are supposed to hold AAA2 (AAAAT would pay 800), so you treat it like you are drawing 4 to the royal. Same with the 3332Q deal.

Some players would rather the basic 4oak that would have paid 400 only.

To realize the win I got of 8 x 2000 = 16000 I would have needed 40 4x3's without a kicker. Even if I got 1 4x3's w/ Kicker it would have been as good as getting 5 x 4x3's without a kicker. Thats why even if I only got 2 which theoretically I should have, it would have been like drawing 10 4x3's without a kicker.

If I held just 3 x 3's I would have had a 1 in 24 chance of drawing a 4th 3. So I theoretically should have only gotten 4.167 4 of a kinds without figuring kickers.

So yeah...

Very hard and expensive game. Thankfully I only played 6 hands before I was dealt this.

Nice pull!

But 8/5 TDB (95.97%) and $50 a whack? Don't do that too often!

I played a bit of triple play TDB with Double STP down in Tunica this weekend was able to hold AAA2, but bricked all 3. Definitely paid for the beer this trip. Bah.

My biggest win. $31.25 payout. Lol

And g/f couldn't find the royal here either.

We did much better on our last trip in Sept.

I won about $1175 thanks to these hits:

Gf also won $100 for the trip with these

And earlier this month she also hit this at River City her 2nd of the year.

Decided to stop by the local Casino to play a quick session of Video Poker and the guy next to me hits 4 aces with the kicker in TDB I believe ? Anyways Nice $1'000 payout on quarters for him...

10 minutes later he gets a dealt Royal Flush for another $1'000. Must be nice! I think I've put in somewhere around 100 thousand hands since October and not one royal or big 4OAK with kicker

Perhaps someone can help me with some math on what would be the best game to play in my area.

We have several casinos that all share the same rewards program.

The highest tier is triple diamond which provides a monthly bonus of 10% of the points you have obtained. You get $5.00 cash back per 1'000 points and for video poker you earn 4 points per $5 dollars played.

Unfortunately the pay tables are not so hot, I've checked nearly every casino and one of the best tables I could find would be for 8/5 Jacks .972 return.

Mainly all of the pay tables for all of the different vp games are lowered by one 5 unit bet per full house and flush, for example double double bonus etc. Aside from that one flight of JOB machines most of the JOB are really bad like 6/5....

Anyways, does anyone have any insight on how much the reward program would change the return on machines ? It seems like it would still be far off from being a good play. Mainly scouting the different promotions to try and take advantage of draws or point multiplier days etc.

Not even close to worth it with those machine paybacks.

someone may correct me on this, but it is pretty hard to find a +ev game with less than 99.5% payback.

Where I am nsud at 99.7 but only on bonus point days. We have FPDW here but only at .25 lvl. We have full pay JoB 99.5 usually only high stakes but can be profitable wiht promotions.
Im in Las Vegas

Thanks for the input Bradley.

Was playing a bit more last night and was able to find a 9/5 JoB game, however its only dollars. I would say this is the best machine I have found so far in western Canada for VP, .984% return.

I wonder if with the points cash back on triple diamond ( 4 points per $5 coin in + 10% monthly bonus of how many points you earn / 1'000 points = $5 ) if this would make it somewhere closer to being worth playing. I guess the key is to keep an eye out for point multiplier days and free play offers etc.

Every 1% is $100 loss on $10,000 coin in, so use that to start. You're over 1% loss on that game so you have a lot to make back through points, comps, promos....

you have all the numbers in front of you, what's there to wonder about? if they are right you're getting $44 back for each $10K played through - this game is worse than 9/6 with 0 comps

Boyd gaming 100.17 TB give 3$ coining per point. Station FPDW $12 coin in per point. Is this correct?

Okay this thread needs some more dingers.

I first got into VP around October of last year and ran pretty hot to start off, its a great game to pass the time when waiting for a seat...

Was dabbling with the government online gambling site and probably within my first 5k hands was up pretty nicely without any royal, playing only jacks or better.....When this beauty hit

Within the next week and probably less then a few thousand hands I ended up hitting a second royal flush for another 1K...unfortunately forgot to screen grab it though.

Then shortly later I ended up taking a shot at 8X my regular stakes and while holding the Ace King and Ten of clubs and boom! 8K
