Rio I plan on playing VP at next time I take a trip where I am really going to play more money than I had budgeted for this trip. Problem with Palms, I want to make 7 Stars this year. More than half way there now.. Maybe after I hit 7 Stars and I am stuck playing in Vegas I will go to Palms and bonus whore a bit...

As far as the quasi boycott, that is all it will ever be since my wife likes to stay on the strip so she can go wandering and sight seeing while I degen it up. We agreed to compromise and book two nights at Palms and two nights at either Cosmo or Aria the next time we are in town. Which brings me to my next point...

I am sooooo jealous of all of you who get to go to Vegas like twice a month! My ****ty job has me scheduled to work 5 out of 6 weekends and forced in on the one Im supposed to have off most of the time. So I will be lucky to get back before September.

I used to go to vegas two / three times a month before I discovered Harrah's Rincon which is about 100 miles from me. (Vegas is 240).

Unfortunately, there is no decent vp available in Minnesota. They made a law that no game can return more than 98%.

There is one casino that has 4 different progressive banks, so that one has the potential to be playable once in a while. Ofcourse, it is also twice as far away as two others in the metro area.

It must be a cruel form of torture having to work in Vegas! I am pretty sure I would be almost worthless with my mind wandering all day thinking about what I will be doing after work.

I would try to find a 10 line .25 JoB with the best pay table I could and grind that. I ran up 80,000 points at Palms in 2 days that way.

10 line JOB at $0.25 would be 1.25 points a push... The JOB I saw when I was at Caesars was 8/5 or even 7/5!

To get the 10K TV, I would have to put $100,000 through a machine. My best single day was 8,000 points, but I was playing $5 8/5 Bonus, and really only for a few hours (8,000 points at $5 level is only 3200 hands). At this time, I do not have the BR for $5.

If I could find a good playing multi line game like you found at the palms (10 line 9/6 JOB LUCKY!)... then for sure I will be playing that...

Caesars Properties, $10 through a video poker machine gets you 1 base credit (tier score point) (depending on the property it may yeld more reward credits (comp dollars).

For $4 played =1pt for the 100% payback machines and $2 =1pt on the others. So I guess I need to play at least 20K for 5,000 pts? Or consider the 99.54 JoB for the $2 per pt. This is at the Aquarius.

Oh yeah, 3x pts. duh, so hopefully 1/3 less play.

The tier pts im way confused. Im at tier 1 and just hope I get bumped up eventually. They evaluate every 4 months.

The other properties are Stratosphere and Arizona Charlies.

Gosh I wish I wasn't so hung up on trying to get 7 Stars this year and play for some better bonus's...

I have some bad news. The 10 line FP JOB at the Palms has been set to play super slow just like their FPDW progressive bank.

The M wasnt making enough money off of the FranknBobs monster progressive banks so they lowered the basic paytables another 1%. They were a bad idea to play before if you were not a well rolled local, now they are suicide.

Oh, and to top it all off....Frank is leaving the Gambling with an Edge radio show.

I am done trying to play serious vp. Its just too damned hard to find an edge these days. Especially if you dont live in Vegas.

There is only one game where you can expect to win if you work hard and thats poker. I just plugged my biggest leak.

I missed the show last week so if that is where he said he was leaving I will hear about it right now as I am listening the rebroadcast.

Is it just me or did it sounds like there was some ill will between frank and bob when they were talking about him leaving the show. It seemed like it was an uncomfortable moment.

I did not get that impression.

I think it is likely that Frank really did not plan on doing the show long term like he stated. If I had to guess though, I would say his departure may have had something to do with his being upset with the M already messing with the new progressive banks, or maybe unfavorable player reaction to them.

Whatever his reasons for leaving though, it is truly a shame. I really like Frank, he has a great sense of humor in addition to being the most knowledgeable vp pro out there. Then there is the added bonus that he actually cares about people and goes out of his way to help them whenever he can.

He will be sorely missed.

I was at my local casino Pittsburgh last night. My wife and I were playing blackjack. We each sat with $120 at a $5 table and after 3 hours I go busto. My wife is sitting on approx $200 so of course she is not ready to go so while she was playing I walked over to listen to the band and on my way over I decided to put a $50 in a the progressive double double machine and on my 3rd spin I got the AAAA progressive. It was only $250 but I was pretty excited since in my 2 months of playing VP this was my largest single hit score. Next hopefully I will get a royal.
