Question that has haunted me for years.

When playing an online casino, lets say you log into the server at 7:00 pm. If you were to have waited until 7:01 pm would the cards you get dealt still be the same or different?

Im not sure if anyone really knows, but its an interesting question. I have no idea how the online "rngs" work or if they even work at all, or if they are in continuous shuffle, or whatever.

I would love some insight on this.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

So theoretically it is possible to win in the online casinos based on the time you log into the server.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

How do you know if the cards will be better or worse depending on the time you sign on?

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

You don't. Thats not the question. The question is are the cards in a continuous shuffle, meaning you will be dealt something different depending on the time you log into the server.

Its a complicated question, not for people with limited intellect.

Not that complicated. With a continuous shuffle you'll also get different cards if you stop to scratch your balls before you act. Still doesn't matter.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

Yes, it's continuous shuffle but it has nothing to do with the time you logged onto the server, just when you press the button that places the bet.

I think it's funny you're belittling someone's intelligence when you're asking a simple question on the internet.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

So if its continuous shuffle, then the cards we are dealt depend on the time we click the button then?

it could be argued that in live play unknown cards are not determined until they are seen due to quantum shuffling. So then it's the same!

Its pretty obvious nobody knows the actual answer to this, yet people pretend to.

How do you come to that conclusion?

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

Because if the cards we get dealt depend primarily on the time that we "click the button" then theoretically it would be possible to "click the button" at a right time as opposed to a different time.

After all, the cards are in a continuous shuffle according to people here.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

Yes of course I understand EV and how it is still a slightly negative -EV game. All I am saying is that if each nanosecond we click the button will bring different cards, then theoretically it should be possible to enter at the right time, get a good hand, log out, and so forth.

Re: Question that has haunted me for years.

Its an interesting question and theory. I really have no clue how these random number generators supposedly work for the internet blackjacks.

There is no way to know if the hand you get dealt if you enter at exactly 8 pm will be different than the hand you get dealt if you log in at 8:30, for example.

Yep but there's no way to predict if you will be hit by a distracted driver at 8 pm or 8.30 pm too.

That would only be true if there were some way of knowing the exact nanosecond to click, and were actually able to do it. It is only theoretically possible to click at the right time if you somehow knew what that right time is, and there isn't any right time. Every single second you spend looking at the screen before clicking a button will result in something different in the deal.

To me, that doesn't imply that I could somehow figure out the "right" time to submit a bet. Instead it implies the opposite. Since the deal is based on a continually changing seed to a random number generator, there is no way that you could ever predict things one way or the other.

Im not saying theres any way to figure out the right time. Only wondering if there is a right time or not.
