Probability of losing 20 scratch off's in a row?

I degened over this last week and have bought a total of 20, $10 scratch off lottery tickets, from various places and days / times. No more than 1 ticket at a time.

I haven't won even a $10 break even on a single ticket, and according to the posted odds on the back of them it's 1 in 3 of winning.

What are the odds of losing 20 in a row?

If we choose to believe you (and why would you lie?) then I would say the odds are 100%.

I like how on July 16 it was "bought 20 tickets, didn't win any of them" and on July 23 it was "bought 40 tickets, didn't win any of them, RIGGED."

My uncle won 50k on a scratcher so they most certainly aren't rigged. I had a friend who ran pretty +EV on scratchers too but I think a majority of people lose, lose and lose more.

Playing scratchers is unbelievably LOL at best.

1/3 seems high. Are you sure they aren't advertised as 3:1, which would be 1/4 chance of winning? The scratchers I've played were never 1/3 (2:1).

Disclaimer: I've never bought a scratcher for myself. I like to pretend I'm smarter than that.

If you are buying a ticket from different places then it's highly possible.

Typically the odds are for the overall amount of tickets printed, however some packs have more winners than others. If you must play them, buy them from the same pack, you'll win something sooner or later.
