OVERVIEW:

Fisoa is a card game played with an English deck of 40 cards (without the 8, 9, 10 or jokers). It can be played from 2 to 4 players. In addition, each player consists of chips to carry out their bets. It was invented by Bryan Said Moreno (Skadus) in 2015.

OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME:

The main objective of the game is to form the best possible set of your cards, to win the largest number of chips through bets or, at least, to make the rest of the players fold each round.

CARD VALUES:
  • The Ace is worth 1 point.
  • The J is worth 8 points.
  • The Q is worth 9 points.
  • The K is worth 10 points.
  • The rest of the cards, their own value.

THE SETS :

A hand is divided into three sets or situations to win a round in a different way. Next we will see what the sets consist of with their respective hierarchy from greater to lesser importance.
  • On point: The player with the lowest point count of the cards on his field wins with a minimum of 40, using the lowest card or sum of the cards from his spread as the tie-breaker (may be 0 if he has no cards there).
  • On length: The player with the fewest cards from his field wins.
  • On rank: The player with the lowest card in his field wins, in case of a tie the next lowest and so on.

If a player wins a set, the other sets are ignored according to their hierarchy. If a set is tied, it is passed to the next set and continues like this until there is a winner.

THE GAME BEGINS:

In the first round, the player who will be the dealer is randomly designated, of which he will distribute five cards to the rest of the players. Each of them, starting with the player to the left of the dealer, will separate their cards into two groups called: Open field and closed field.

The open field at the beginning of a round consists of two face up cards and the closed field consists of three hole cards that other players cannot see except yourself. Both the open field and the closed field together are simply referred to as the “field”, so they will be part of the same point count.

Then, on their turn, each player will have the following options, saying:
  • "Bet": Before asking for a card or standing, you can bet a certain number of chips.
  • "Hit": If you want more cards to improve your field total, the dealer will deal you more cards, one at a time per turn, until you decide to stand. There is no limit to the number of cards you can take.
  • "Stand": The player decides not to ask for more cards and keeps the ones he has.

When requesting a card, the player must place it face up in the open field. If you want to put it in the closed field, it can be done on the condition that one of the cards from the closed field is turned face up in the open field to replace it. That is, so that in the closed field there are always three cards. Then the turn will pass to the player on the left.

Upon standing, the player will optionally discard a set number of his cards from the closed field face up in front of the open field horizontally to form the spread which are cards that are not counted for point counting. Then, he will put his cards from the closed field face down behind the open field horizontally. When all the players stand, the last round of betting will take place and the cards from the closed field will be revealed, placing them next to the cards from the open field to show the rest of the players the count of points made on the cards from their field. Then the turn will pass to the player on the left.

If a player has stood, they can decide between passing the turn or betting. In the next round, the dealer takes one turn to the left of the dealer.

THE BETS:

Before the cards are dealt, mandatory "blind" bets are made. They are called that because the player performs them without seeing his cards.

If a player decides to bet, the other players, starting with the player on the left, will decide one of the following options:
  • Accept the bet by saying "Call".
  • Reject the bet saying "Fold" and lose the round.
  • Raise the bet by saying "Raise", which passes the turn to the next players to decide.

When all the players have accepted the bet, the wagered chips will accumulate in a specific area of the table called the pot. In this way, the player who wins the round will take the chips from the pot.

END OF THE GAME

When a player runs out of chips to bet with, they are eliminated from the game, with the only player not eliminated winning the game.

Unfortunately, I can't edit the post anymore, but I think it would be more convenient to have the following rule:

"Hit:" If you want more cards to improve your field total, you can request a card by drawing one from the deck once per turn, until you decide to stand. There is no limit to the number of cards you can take.
