if you wanted a fresh shuffle then you should have asked for one. in my experience if a table clears out in the middle of the shoe they don't shuffle and wait for another customer.

just ask for the cards to be shuffled and i'm positive the dealer will call the pit boss and honor your request.
if not then just don't play at that table/casino imo.

You should focus on the things you can control. You can play at lower limits if losing 9 in a row will send you into an internet fury. You can't control losing 9 in a row by asking for a shuffle.

Consider this: If the deck was half dealt because people playing there busted out, then it's likely the count is positive.

If, OTOH, you buy in for 250k and start making wagers of 2 x 500 -- you've pretty much exposed yourself.

This isn't like poker, where a big stack or reserve is transmutable into strength. This is a situation where it's preferable to appear weak.
Makes wonging easier, too

I, for one, welcome our new OGG contributor. His wisdom and insight into the wide world of casino gaming is quite refreshing!

im sure you can request a new shufffle (for the spelling bees). if not just move to a new table

the house actually holds the edge in a fresh shoe. so i cant see why they would decline such a reqqeest (for the speellinnng beez)

But that's all he knows how to do. He's a degenerate gambler who flunked out of school because he was so obsessed with his sure-fire betting systems. He's barely literate, and probably has some sort of neurological condition.

You are the only person at this table and you have just purchased a stack of 20 green $25 chips. Suppose you ask for a shuffle, and you patiently sit there like Buddha with your stack of green, not betting. What are they going to say, no? Unless the pit boss has his head up his ass you will get your shuffle.

Then you have the problem of possibly losing 9 times in a row after a fresh shuffle, which is equally as likely as in the middle of a shoe in which you have not seen any of the discards. (Unless you infer from the situation, possibly correctly, that the table might be empty because the previous player used up most of the 10-cards and wonged out.)
